Panthers lose, but there’s a different vibe since Andy Dalton replaced Bryce Young –– The Athletic

I know it's mid-week, but what are your early thoughts with Chicago? Looks like the Bears are 3.5 point favorites.

Not being biased, but I actually thought that should be reverse. Their offense is really struggling. Their defense is above average.

Their defense is the best we've faced this season, so that will be interesting. Their offense I have no clue, but they're going up against one of, if not the worst, defense in the NFL so that might be the difference.

Competence, like incompetence, is contagious.

Absolutely it is. Canales talks all the time about setting a standard. Who have we had that ran that line by people? Maybe Fox with his not tough enough line.

Well the Bears fuging up the 2025 2nd would ease it a little I guess. And after that we are paid off.
But we have to watch CJ play for however many years and it won’t stop.

I have felt good about Canales since we hired him and that would not have happened if Bryce would have not gotten the other coaches fired.

So if Canales is the guy, it is a great booby prize.

Any way you look at it each pick could have been something more than Bryce. It's not a great way of looking at it but getting it ALL behind us would sure help.

Just getting a good HC and building something good would be the cure. We are going to have high draft picks again and they need more than projects. I was less then enthusiastic about DC as a hire but he has shown enough for me to wait and cheer for him. I really like him righting his ship after 2 games, that's when he earned some patience from me vs just being the noob to be brought in to fix Young. He has a lot left to prove and like most of the roster he needs to show improvement. DM too.

C Williams reminds me of a younger Baker...maybe even worse. His ego is toxic, terrible teammate and he hasn't realized yet his biggest problem is his attitude. Baker had to fail in Cleveland and then one year here to change. It's hard to feel good when it's nothing but a bonus pick. They still had their #9 pick and if he bust it doesn't put them behind at all like Young has done to this team. Sorry but it's going to hurt a little longer since they still have the Panther's 2nd in 2025.

Really? What have you seen that made you think Caleb is a terrible teammate? His teammates love him, he doesn't complain about anything. Has he made rookie mistakes?, absolutely. But he has gotten better every game and he will continue to do so.

I think it will be a close game Sunday with Bears winning. I don't believe Andy has seen DB talent at the level of Chicago. He has had a great start so far but his track record says he will throw us a couple picks and come back down to earth.

Hate to tell you but he is going to bust there. If you can't see it then take off the fan goggles and really look at it. They didn't pick the best QB and it's not close.

Anything could happen Sunday. Andy has seen it all so bad take on that angle. He isn't a world beater amd never was in his prime but he is a fiesty vet. No idea if it's multiple TD game or multiple pick game, either way it's still a mercy in these parts to see watchable football.

The Bears wasted their #1 pick just like the Panthers did in 2023. At least yours can actually play in the NFL and was a bonus pick so there is that. He also gets to go agaisnt the 32/28 ranked D with little to no passrush so if the Bears can't win this game it's way more embarrassing for them then a team at the bottom staring up at everyone else. The Panthers are so bad they have to wait until this offseadon to start a rebuild that should have began 5 years ago.

You can tell after 4 games, huh? GM material.  The line definitely needs work & hopefully he can stay healthy. I am not an expert but I think his floor is a good NFL QB.  He has the tools to be special if he is not seeing his center get pushed into him every snap. I would definitely take the bet he will not be a bust.  But we shall see. I like Andy, he was a good guy when he was here and wish him the best after this game.

I could tell before the pick. He isn't special, he isn't even the best QB in his draft. He is another talented player who thinks he is special. Well school is over and the rest of the NFL was laughing when the Bears made that pick. I sure was just like I was laughing when the Panthers picked Young.

If he ever gets his head out of his butt he could pull a Baker or a Fields and hit his potential but going #1 just inflated an already ginormous ego. He has a good D and Moore is a consistent stud. A special player would do more with that even if everything else wasn't perfect.

We are really lucky to have Andy. Young is such a massive bust they should come up with another name for it because it's unfair to call other players busts in comparison.

It is called delusional versus a bit too optimistic. Something like that.

Well Williams seems to be mostly a bust because he thinks he is better than he is. I haven't watched enough to really say but what I've seen is about that.

He has tools and could possibly learn to work with what he has in the NFL and make it better. (he seems to be playing like he is still in college)

for the Bears guy...Our DBs aren't horrible, but we don't get any pressure generally so they are stressed. He'll have a chance to succeed on Sunday. We'll see.
