Albert Breer: Panthers WR’s possibilities for Chiefs

Recommended Posts

Would suck so much trading Diontae Johnson away, after we just God damn traded for him this off season. He's been our best offensive playmaker. I don't like it unless we literally go winless all the way to the trade deadline.

Do you really want to see an offense where Mingo is one of your top 2 targets again???

Theilen I would care less about. He's old and probably deserves to be on a contender before his career is over.

Here we go again falling in love with someone too quick and not thinking clearly. How many "we can't move" players have we had...only for them to either leave in FA or resign here for a boatload and instantly be seen as an overpaid albatross contract?

Where's Chinn?

If you can get a 1st for Diontae, you take it. If you can get a Day 2 pick for him, you take it.

Adam sure.

If they want Johnson they better be giving up that 1st Rd pick. The moment we trade Johnson to KC he's gonna be a all pro playing with Mahomes. We don't need that happening.

Yep KC should have done better scouting.  You want him Andy?  It's a first now.

Ideal scenario is we keep Johnson and get him tied down to a long term deal. In his mind he's probably thinking if he keeps playing like he is a better team will offer him a similar deal, so why stay here. Chiefs have two 3rds in the 2025 draft so I could see them offering one of those for a WR from some team. Having said that I probably wouldn't trade him unless it was a 2nd or higher.

It’s a popular piece of poo to sling against the wall. Were a small unpopular team so anyone good we have is always speculated to get traded away to popular teams

pretty much. these talking heads just sit around going "hey the Chiefs need help at WR... whose a team that nobody cares about. surely they'll hand over their top WR1 for peanuts"

Johnson is going to be 29 going into next season and I can't see us having our QB situation figured out and also re-stock an entire defense to be a contender in the next 2 seasons while he'll still be in his prime.

That money would be much better spent on younger free agents on defense and then use our 1st Rounder on a true outside #1 WR (hello T-Mac) to have him and Legette under rookie contracts for the next 4-5 years while we build the rest of the team and figure out the QB.

True stud #1 WRs generally don't become available through FA and rarely by trade, but usually need at least a 1st to get them.  The best way to get those game changing WRs is to draft them in the first, let's do it back to back years and get a nice young pairing on the outside.

I'm probably taking a 2nd from them for him if offered, even if it's 64, that's a good player right there.

And I said in a thread yesterday that we should be calling them up for Thielen, I could see them giving up a 3rd for him if they can't get anything better.  I think he'd be a really nice fit with Mahomes and all the other speed they already have there and be a nice compliment from the slot and finding openings in the defense where Mahomes will always find him in a pinch.

Thielen and Kelce in the slot on each side with their speed WRs on the outside would be dangerous for Mahomes

I think we would have to consider it. If Johnson isn't going to sign an extension then getting a pick for him would be a smart move.

LEGGETT, did pretty good moving into AT spot this last week. Mingo also showed some potential. If Coker can find a spot we might hang in there until the end of the season without AJ. If these young players continue to improve I think these next couple of games could decide whether we can make the move.

We're not going to the playoffs so building through the draft is our only way out of this position Fetterer put us in.  IMO Morgan is doing a good job getting us out of the basement but it's not going to be this year.
