32nd(last) ranked defense

How many of our current defensive roster would start on a defense that's considered average?

Horn.  Maybe Shaq. Jackson. I'm struggling to name any other average or better players on our defense.

Hard to make chicken salad sometimes...

This front 7 is about as bad of a 7 I can ever remeber for us.

Jewell misses alot of gaps and is too slow to make up for being out of position.

The line is getting next to no pressure when rushing four.

Honestly, our secondary has probaly outplayed expectations outside of that Chase TD.

Giving way too much credit to Shaq.  He would be on the bench on an average team.

I agree 100%.  Our secondary is far from being a liability.   Our trash Dline and weak linebacker are our biggest problems.   Linebackers would look better if we had Brown playing.  The Dline needs to step up, but I don't think the  talent is there.  Even when Wonnum comes back, we will not be able to generate enough pressure or stop the run consistently.

That snows defense had a young burns, brown, shaq along with Boston and Jackson. Plus an at the right position chinn tearing it up.

tell me ya know not what you’re speaking about without actually saying it.

You do know who the rookies were and how bad those rookies struggled? You do know how ineffective Brown was in his first 2 to 3 years? You know Burns was worse as a 2nd year player than he was last season, and Evero got less out of Burns. Are you saying Burns and Brown were better with Snow than last year with Evero? Shaq was available to both too, and Evero got the better trio.

You're even saying that secondary is better than this secondary too? Next you'll tell me Jewell (Evero's chosen leader) is worse than Whitehead. Luvu and Houston were better than Whitehead and Evero got less out of better players.

Imagine Evero with a rookie Roy next to a struggling rookie Brown?

I like how you act like Evero never had the more developed Chinn, and got less out of him than Snow. Evero wanted to replace Chinn with Fuller, as if Chinn and not Evero was the problem.

Want to disagree with this veteran combo of Burns, Chinn, Brown, Shaq being worse than the rookie/sophomore version?

Tell me ya know Evero has had more than Snow and has gotten less out of them. Seems that would point to the DC being the problem (especially when you take his destruction of the top 10 Denver defense into account).

You made my point and didn't even realize it.

Burns had 9 sacks, 3 ff and was one of the most effective pass rushers in the league in 2020 based on advanced stats.

So yeah what I said earlier stands… Snow had way more to work with

The d-line is the main issue on defence. Not getting enough pressure on the QB & run defence is atrocious. The last few seasons, the o-line was the biggest weakness, now it's the d-line. To run the 3-4, you need a true 2 gap nose tackle, and this team doesn't have 1.

Snow had a 2nd year Burns who was an even worse run defender. Evero had a 5th year Burns in a contract year and got the same production as a 2nd year Burns. Which coach put Burns in a position to be more productive? You know the answer.

Snow had more to work with? No. He got more out of less developed players who had serious weak points in their game against the run.

You keep proving my point for all to see how bad Evero has been as a DC. The personnel excuses will never work. A bottom of the league defense will always be the DC.

Most would go to other teams and start like Vonn Bell did. The Panthers have been farming defensive starters for the NFL. It's the DC.

D.Brown, D. Williams, A. Robinson, Tuttle, Wonnum, Clowney, Shaq, Jewell, A.Brown, D. Jackson, M. Jackson, Hill, Fuller, Woods, and Scott have and would start on an average NFL defense. Some have started on NFL playoff teams.

Hmmm, let's look at our current defensive starters to try and figure out why we suck on defense:

     JAG - JAG - JAG

JAG - JAG - JAG - JAG

Horn - JAG - JAG - Jackson (surprisingly good so far through 4 games)

Throw in Bryce not helping things out weeks 1 and 2 and that will get you the worst defense in the league easily.

You mean the Jeremy Chinn that literally did the opposite of develop after his rookie year... The one that is to small to be a LB/SS and too slow/terrible in coverage to be a CB/FS.

Not Evero's fault the dude has no position he can fit into in the NFL.

Not saying Evero is the answer as long term DC, but the defense was more than adequate last year despite having a god awful offense constantly putting them into terrible spots. We lost Luvu & Burns + lost Brown game 1 - I can't say I'm surprised that we can't stop the run or generate a pass rush. And for people complaining about why don't we blitz - what person do we have that can rush the passer? Clowney literally looks like a clown on the field, our 2 ILBs aren't pass rushers, and the rest of the front 7 are either better at run D (Robinson), signed off the streets (Harris), and/or probably shouldn't be on the active roster (Peevy).

I don't think people understand how truly awful our front 7 is (even moreso without Brown & Shaq). Like all time least talented level of defense for a front 7....
