Panthers thin, so quarterback seems inevitable

I think we need too bring in a vet more then drafting a QB. We already have 2 young QB on the roster and none of the QB you can draft in the later rounds have much more Physical skills then Cantwell. We need a vet too add stability to that position.

agreed but i wouldn't be opposed to doing both. i expect that is what will happen. getting a vet of some kind is a bit more important than drafting a QB. i like it more for the presence and insight on the sidelines. moore is going to need a bit of that.

Hunter Cantwell spent the season on the practice squad and 3rd QB for the Panthers. The question needs to be asked? Does he have what it takes to be the next UDFA QB to make it in this league. I just read last season scouting reports on him and there really wasn't much to be excited about. His arm strength and size that is that of a yoru prototypical NFL quarterback.

I would think that he did enough that the Panthers have retained his services. Do you think he has done enough to be #2 or #3? If so and we sign a vet or resign McCown then why draft a rookie that probably will be on the practice squad?

Cantwell is on the team because he is cheap not because he is that talented. If we don't have a veteran backup and Moore gets hurt, we are in serious trouble. If we decide to draft a rookie and he gets the nod if Moore gets hurt, we will be worse than Tampa by a big margin.
