Doesn’t Dalton’s current contract have voided years? I think that makes it difficult to extend him after this year.

Yes, I think all it means is he would have to agree to a new extension at his own rate, we couldn't just restructure to keep him or whatever.  Or he could hit FA after this year and we could bid for him once that starts. I think it's kinda rare to be in that situation

His contract voids Feb 20th, a few weeks before free agency for whatever that's worth. I guess we would have to come up with a new contract before then or let him hit FA?

Cap wise it's better to trade after the season.  His stock only falls if we play him

Yeah, after looking at him try to play in the NFL, the thought of him going back on the field seems laughable. And totally pointless.

I would consider it treasonous.

It's like they have to do it if he is still around eventually but his ability and play level completely justifies moving on. He isn't a Baker or a Darnold. He is a worse Wilson or J Russel. Send him to Miami and watch him get people there fired.

Bryce is a unicorn, meaning no one has ever had his rare ability to not only make bad decisions but also be devoid of talent

It would be different if he had been showing any signs of high level NFL talent. Plenty of young QBs struggle. It's hard to read NFL defenses. It's hard to adjust your decision making to account for faster, smarter DBs breaking on the ball. A lot of times you're playing on a bad team, behind a bad OL. But Bryce just flat out doesn't look like he belongs in an NFL field and it's getting worse, not better.

Because he doesn't. He can't see to read coverage.

I had been hopeful for him when he had learned the actual 123-plant-throw, that we saw in the Buffalo preseason game.

Then someone showed a slo mo close up of him doing that and then taking the extra step of getting on those tippy toes, in the Saints game 1st quarter before he abandoned even caring about his form.

(not kidding, he did the foot plant... and added a little motion to get up on his toes. I poo you not. I was shocked really, that he couldn't throw without doing the toes thing)

I have nothing good to say for his future. You cannot fuging do that; it screws the timing and slows arm already slow guy with a slow ball down even more.

He has zero positives on the field. All those other guys at least had enough talent to take a shot on. It's rough for a nice guy but it's just the reality of the situation.

He is making Clausen and J Russell look good. It's just so bad.

A unicorn without a horn is just a horse. We'll a Shetland pony in this example.

No NFL coach will look at the film of his 18 NFL starts and think, "wow, this guy could be good. I can fix him and look like a genius." No effing way.

Someone will try. A 4th isn't much and his cap isn't much after we eat our portion. I'm interested to see who takes a swing after all the 'Bryce will be fine' he has recieved.

I thought that before he went number one. I mean there were no 18 starts but he was the same guy.

I can see someone throwing a 5th or a 6th maybe, but that guaranteed salary, I don't know.
