JT did what he was supposed to do on this play. Cross the line and take the outside edge. It’s a cross line block and that’s his assignment… not the free rusher that Icky missed. It’s supposed to look like the run with the same motion. On the run play the TE goes to the outside. This was not on JT at all… it’s on Icky.

with line play, you do your assignment as the play is drawn up and rely on your team mates to do the same.

Agree to disagree, if this is a run he's coming across to lead block between the tackle and guard, and Mingo isn't releasing him....  regardless of assignment this is an awareness issue if he blocks the inside rusher Dalton easily has anther 2 seconds and a little hitch step up the outside rusher is 10+ yards from the QB he's not making a sack there.

That’s not how line play works, you have your assignment and you execute that assignment and expect the players around you to do the same. You try to do too much and you make more mistakes. And no the run play has him going to the outside to crack the DE allowing the other linemen to slide blocking over towards the run direction.

he 100% did what he was supposed to do and that sack isn’t on him at all. It’s on icky who made a mental mistake. “Which has been very common so far”

I agree, I just stopped arguing about it.

And you don't "know his assignment"

Neither do you but you’re being just as assertive.  Either way I think we could all agree that Sanders had a better option and Icky did nothing.
