The Dolphins are shopping Ted Ginn Jr.

GINN has low YAC? Didn't Jarrett have the lowest YAC in the league last year per reception?

He would instantly fall down the second he caught the ball.

Funny you should say that...

Ginn - of his 454 yards, 53 yards were after the catch in 2009 (1.4 yards per reception)

Jarrett - of his 196 yards, 47 were after the catch in 2009 (2.8 yards per reception)

Incidently Jarrett was second on our team from our WRs.

Smith 4.9

Mush - 2.5

Moore - 2.7

Martin - 1

ya, and steve breaston had the highest rushing average. bigger sample please! you folks did take statistics in school, right? jarrett's stats mean nothing whatsoever unless you find his preseason stats or he gets more playing time. now, let's all stop arguing and solve our differences over some pie.

If you compare Ginn to any of the top 50 or so receivers and its pretty embarrassing reading. I can give you some better comparisons if you want and I was merely using it to point out how ineffective Ginn is rather than saying how Jarrett is good.

Name me a receiver and I will give you the info

Smith, Jarrett, Ginn Jr..would've been a good receiving core. Ginn can stretch field and return punts also.

ginn wasnt our punt returner, hes a terrible punt returner, he fumbles alot looking for a defender before the catch. davone bess returned punts for us last year.....he sucked at it. so it shows how bad ginn is.

Captain sucks at both. Moore was decent but that fumble sealed his fate. As bad as you say Ginn is he would still be head and shoulders over any KO returner we have. At least if he has a good day its a good one (2 tds one game).

I know I will get a comment or two about how bad the blocking was here but i'd rather not rely on that as a crutch and not attempt to find a better one.

Vincent Jackson - 2 drops

Sidney Rice - 3 drops

Reggie Wayne - 3 drops

Wes Welker - 6 drops

Larry Fitzgerald - 3 drops

Robert Meachem - 0 drops

What you have said is true of Smith and Muhammad, however the best performing wide receivers of last season were ridiculously clutch. All of the listed above were target over 100 times (bar Meachem) and I could pull out a whole host of players that were consistent with the ball yet being thrown to over and over.

Check out my post above for Ginns numbers.

My main issue with Ginn, is that he is NOT a game changing receiver. He has really low yards after the catch for physical freak, which shows he either struggles to run routes efficiently, or he does not couple his speed with the ability to make people miss. Take away his two kickoff returns and he was convincingly average int he return game too. I would only pick him up if it cost less than a 5th.

Thanks for giving us stats for guys Ginn will NEVER be as good as. I used Smith and Moose because they are Panthers and had the same QB Ginn would have. Look up drop stats for #3 WRs around the league to be more accurate. I bet you'll see some drops.

I know he is a horrible PR but I would love to have him on our Roster myself just to be a KR. I am just so sick of having bandaids back there returning kicks.

Hmmm, I wonder why I used Robert Meachem...head scratcher that one...

He was third string behind Colsten and Henderson and was targeted 61 times a never dropped one. He was also considered a draft bust up until this season.

Regardless, Ginn was Miami's starter for the majority of the season, so you cna only compare him to the players that got he same opportunities. Still if you want comparisons to 3rd stringers...

Want some more?

Arizona - Breaston - 79 targets 2 drops

Baltimore - Washington - 45/2

Chicago - Johnny Knox - 75/4

Cincinnati - Andre Caldwell - 80/4

Cleveland - Mike Furrey - 39/2

Dallas - Crayton - 64/4

Denver - Royal - 69/1

Detroit - Northcutt - 56/5

Houston - Anderson 52/1

Indi - Collie - 85/3

Jacksonville - Thomas - 59/1

Kansas City - Chambers - 59/1

Minnesota - Harvin - 86/4

New England - Edelman - 50/3

Giants - Nicks - 71/2

Jets - Stuckey - 25/2

Oakland - Higgins - 40/5

Phili - Avant - 55/0

Pittsburgh - Wallace - 71/4

St. Louis - Amendola - 63/3

San Diego - Nanee - 27/1

49ers - Bruce - 44/4

Seattle - Branch - 75/4

Tampa - Stovall - 43/3

Tennesse - Gage - 60/6

Washington - Thomas - 41/4

All of the above are the third featured wide receiver on their team AND have better ratios that Ginn. The vast majority also have better YACs and completion %'s. Face it, Ginn is nothing more than an occassional deep threa in a passing scheme. He is NOT reliable nad shows no ability to make people miss.
