It's very sad but your value on young right now is insane. What did the cowboys give for Lance?  I'd imagine Bryces trade value is less than that

Could be, but who knows? He might not be worth anything at this point. But keeping him around is only going to create cancer internally.

If we would have just taken him later in that draft we probably could have stuck with him.

Who? Bryce? He wasn’t getting past 2, the Bama hype machine was in full effect. Someone was going to end up in this position no matter what.

I hear ya.  If it were up to me, I'd IR Bryce with a mystery injury and acquire another QB to put behind Dalton.

Yeah I don't see anyone trading for 3 years of $6m guaranteed right now for him to sit on their bench. IR him so he can go home, grab freaking Trevor Siemian for vet min and let him and Dalton run whatever Canales wants to run and see if the play calling is even good. We seriously have no clue if Canales is up to snuff in a competitive game once he has to deal with challenges, time outs, clock management, etc. He seems like an ultimate boom or bust HC/play caller. He doesn't need a work in progress like Howell right now

If Young has any trade value at all, and that is a big if, a 7th round pick would be a reasonable expectation.

Teams will hold on to better back-up qbs just because of the value of having a capable starter on emergency standby.

Promote Plummer and hope he never has to play. It keeps Young from getting back on the field.

It would have made the whole easier for us but without that investment who even stays with him that long given his production and decisions?

I mean, it doesn't really matter how much they invested when you play like he has played after an entire preseason and camp of work. You can't accept that.

All he had to do was at least sling it down the field a few times and hit even one and I bet he got more time. He's got time to think it now maybe it will help him.

If we'd taken him later in the draft he would have gotten the Corral treatment already. He's only here because of the trade capital and guaranteed money. Or Dalton would have been starting like 10 games ago at the least

This. This is so different than a young QB going through some rough spots or being inconsistent while showing some flashes. Bryce has consistently been terrible and just flat out looks like he doesn't belong.

That’s basically Howell.

Send Bryce to Miami or LA for hopefully a 2nd or 3rd (might be wishful thinking), offer Seahawks a 5th for Sam and wash our hands of this.

thats the most wishy thinking that has ever been thought. He’ll be released eventually.

Chasing backup caliber QB's would be a very Panthers thing to do.

He's no more an answer to our woes than Gardner Minshew is. An upgrade perhaps but being mired in the 5-8 win range isn't desirable either.

Keep in mind he was very quickly jettisoned by the Redskins for better options.

Honestly I'd go after Wilson, yeah he's got big bust energy too, but he played well the entire off season. Maybe he is who Canales can turn around. At least he has the measurables.

Wilson in Carolina?

The Nat'l media would eat us alive. The least respected vet QB goes to the least respected NFL franchise.

That's so crazy that it might work!
