Rule 6 Section 9 Articles 4-2 - When a team intentionally loses a game or does not score as high as it can, to obtain a perceived future competitive advantage, the team is often said to have "tanked" the game. The act of playing or officiating a contest with the intention of losing, violating the rules of the NFL game. or in simpler terms tanking is illegal...

If that rule was enforceable, the NFL would never have allowed Matt Rhule a 3rd season.

He had 2 5 win seasons. The #1 pick couldn't win more than 2 games last year and throw more than 12 yards yesterday.

It's possible but I think it's obvious the rest of the team wasn't happy with the BS of it all.

Young got benched because Tepper, Canales, Morgan & Dalton agreed he is not on pace to be an NFL starter.

Keeping Young healthy is important to trade him for anything helpful. The likely target should be Cooper Rush. Cowboys want a backup with Rush & Lance hitting free agency after this season. Dalton knows Rush & his development. Canales has a gift for developing 30 year old QBs. I'm sure Rush was on the short list of QBs they studied following his 2022 success.

I could see Dalton starting while Rush catches up for 6 to 8 weeks. Rush would be a good place holder with promising upside. 2 to 3 seasons of Rush-Dalton before Dalton retires.

    • That’s a book of the great life that the Panthers have had. So great to look back on the great players and seasons that we have had. But I think the book could have been twice the size. We have had a good 30 years, up and down the standings. i know we are in a bad spot right now, but hopefully before long we will be climbing back towards that Super Bowl championship
    • LmAO ..it does not make any sense whatsoever why a team that is currently 2-0 would  trade their backup Qb to a team that is 0-2 & in the same NFC conference ? & what is Seattle going to do if Geno Smith is injured ? wouldn't a team that is  currently 2-0 & is quiet  possibly going to the playoffs  want a decent plan B that already knows how to operate their system & has some form of chemistry with their players  , like I said before this is the NFL &teams especially ones like Seattle  are NOT going to trade their backup Qb 2 games into the regular season...just saying
    • Yeah, I can see that happening, but my only thing is, whoever he goes to, it's going to be a bad team. Not a whole lot of difference between us and say Denver, Jax, the Giants or the Colts. Of course, we're probably worse, but not by that much. Manning would have to pick his poison.
