Let's Say Tebow Is There at 48...

If The Golden Calf of Bristol is still on the board at 48, the Panthers will take him because he would probably be BPA with more and more scouts saying he has become a 1st round talent over the past few months.
+1

The Golden Calf of Bristol will be in the league a very long time. You can fuss over his mechanics all you want, but he was the top rated passer in college football last year. He's the top rated passer in SEC history. And he did it against the best competition college has to offer.

Every year there are QBs out there with perfect this and perfect that who get signed to big contracts and go out and bust in Oakland. And there are guys who aren't drafted that show up on rosters in Dallas and Carolina and look like first-rounders.

Face it, at the QB position there's as much going on between the ears as there is where physical ability is concerned. You have to look at leadership, poise, presence, and adjustments when you judge one, and they don't really test those during the wind sprints at the combine. In The Golden Calf of Bristol you have a guy who's body of work shows he has all those qualities in surplus. Put that together with his stats and tell me how he makes it to 48.

I've hated him for the past four years, but I've hated him as an opponent. If the Panthers got him, I would be thrilled. He may not be "all that" as a rookie, but by the time he gets a few years experience he will be, and barring injury he will be for a very long time.

Umm, no thanks.

For a while I was fine with trading out of the 2nd, but looking at most draft boards/mocks/etc, this is a GREAT year to have a 2nd. There is so much 1st round talent available that we'd be stupid to trade out unless it was for a stud WR such as Brandon Marshall.

A bit off topic, but New England is going to absolutely destroy this draft. They have 3, THREE second round picks to go along with their first.

1st Round (22nd Overall)

2nd Round (44th Overall - JAX)

2nd Round (47th Overall - TEN)

2nd Round (53rd Overall)

4th Round (119th Overall)

then 2 6th's, and 5 7th's.

^^ right there is why Bill Belichick & the Pats front office is the best in the league, and it's not even close.

New England is going to do work.... some people think they might draft The Golden Calf of Bristol... the funny thing is they can afford to lose a second round pick on him, but I doubt they will. NE always finds good talent in the draft and next year they are going to be dirty... assuming Wes Welker is healthy

NE hasn't been the beacon of success in the draft recently they were in the past.

The Golden Calf of Bristol has the worst delievery in college football. While he might have all the records he was often on one of the most talented teams.

Also Florida QB's are the debil

I heard Phil Simms talk about him yesterday and he really felt he wasn't at all a NFL quarterback. His actual words were that" nothing he has seen would make him think that The Golden Calf of Bristol has the tools to be an pro-style NFL quarterback".

He said that The Golden Calf of Bristol made lots of passes but said the reason was that his margin for error was so large he didn't have to be that accurate. In other words the offense they ran and skill of the receivers was such that he had wide open targets and all day to throw. He said that passers have to be accurate and fit balls into much smaller windows than in college because the DBs are so much better, close faster, and make it much harder for receivers to gain separation. He felt that The Golden Calf of Bristol would struggle with that. He did say that the positives were that he was very big and strong, could stand in the pocket and take punishment all day and could roll out or run for yards so he might be very versatile and useful in the NFL. He just wouldn't make a great pocket passer.

For what it worth though he was pretty down on the whole draft at quarterback and said he couldn't remember when as a class the quarterbacks were so weak. He felt that outside of Bradford and Claussen, there were really no guaranteed guys out there. He felt that there could be some picks in the first and second round that might not be total busts, but may never amount to much.

i would only be happy with at least a 1st next year. since we don't know how our inexperienced players will do this year, we need to load up for the draft next year. of course, if matt moore bombs and The Golden Calf of Bristol becomes a hall of fame quarterback, we'd look pretty stupid.

What if Moore becomes a hall of fame QB and The Golden Calf of Bristol bombs !

only way I trade them our 2nd is for their 1st in 2011 and a 3rd this year. They NEED The Golden Calf of Bristol, and most likely wouldnt have much of choice if that is the only way we trade #48 to them.

True if he lasted that long. He will be gone in the first round in a trade to Jacksonville for that kind of compensation.
