I’d want to run the same play they ran 1st last week, just complete it. That would be a confidence boost for the QB. Of course, you cannot fug it up.  
I’m no football coach it might be the worst thing you could do, but playing safe isn’t going to boost his confidence. It might set up play action if he can execute it.
