Why double down on Howard? Let him have his points. I rather give up two and if there is a foul the schmo can't make a free throw. Those 3's are KILLERS right now. That's at least 10 a game if not more.

Need a better start and just defend the 3 better. We can still push this the distance.

Doubling down on Howard wasn't the issue last night... especially since he sat out most of the game. The defense was fine for majority of the game, it was out inability to generate offense that caused us that game.

They did hit some three's in the third... but that was piabitch hitting ridiculous three's late in the shot clock with a defender in his face.

When Dwight was in the game they were fouling him and not letting him get easy dunks and shots. The big three actually used quite a bit of fouls on him.

This loss is 100% on our offensive play... I'm surprised the Magic didn't score more with all the turnovers we had and lack of offense.

I don't know if anyone watches the live press conferences on NBA.com after the games but Larry Brown seemed pretty snippy.

My favorite moment was when Rick Kamla (from NBATV) asked him a question if it was discouraging limiting Howard for the second straight game but still being down 0-2.

Larry Brown responds, "I don't understand that one" and then pauses before he responds. I'm not a huge fan of Rick Kamla so that made my night.

Van Gundy, Barnes fined for criticizing officials

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP)—The NBA fined Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy and forward Matt Barnes $35,000 each Thursday for publicly criticizing officials.

Van Gundy and Barnes said after the Magic beat Charlotte on Wednesday night that they were not happy with the way officials called the game on Dwight Howard.

Orlando’s All-Star center has been in foul trouble the first two games of the series.

Barnes said the officials need “to stop calling such tic-tac fouls on him.” Van Gundy said among other things that he doesn’t “see the other great players in this league on the bench all the time with foul trouble, especially on marginal calls.”

The Magic lead the Bobcats 2-0. Game 3 is Saturday in Charlotte.
