Maybe we can get a deal for the first pick similar to the one we gave the Bears that helped rebuild their entire roster.

Its doubtful though because they have a competent GM who we passed on, and we only want dawgs.

Ewers. If he sucks then draft Manning the year after. We need to draft a QB every year until we find one

Exactly.  If you get Josh Rosen'd into a high pick, you just try again.  You don't give that guy year 2 because you're in denial.

We really need a vet QB to come in and help with team culture and allow the new rookie to sit.

unfortunately, we don’t have the money for that.

I really like Sanders when he has the time, but vs. Nebraska, he looked like Bryce when things broke down.

Ewers is my top QB right now, and it was his game against Michigan that sold me---Before?  He was my third choice.  He is smart, mentally tough, and a competitor with QB skills.

I have not seen enough Beck to make an informed opinion, but Georgia has had some good college QBs go to the NFL and become average to below average.  Same with Bama, although they do have 3 starting QBs in the NFL (if you count Philly).

Which brings me to Milroe.  He will probably be a riser if he plays well.  First round ability.

The QB that makes me say, "Hmmmm" is Penn State's Allar.  He would be great in a pro style offense, and our WRs seem to fit that mold, as does the OL.  He has some basic mechanical issues, but Canales can fix that.  Watch his stock this year.

Bryce was also surrounded by elite talent. Look what he is without it.

That is a factor.  I would then look at his processing speed, leadership, mechanics, etc.

Bama covered Bryce's deficiencies--like they did Tua and Hurts.  Does that mean they are not good QBs?  No, but it means that they are not elite as suggested by the college play.

You could say the same about Texas (they had a load of talent last season, but their impressive win vs. Michigan suggests that Ewers is the real deal.

Colorado (Sanders) could be a situation that reveals a good QB on a bad team.  However, during the Nebraska game, they showed Sanders' waist towel and it had a gold dollar sign on the towel.  Nah.  Not when your teammates are not getting endorsement deals.  Not when you are making nearly $5m in college which is more than several starting NFL QBs...Nope.  hard pass.  You won 4 games last season.  Your daddy brought in 42 players to fill gaps and needs. Nebraska embarrassed you.  Nope--hard pass.  And when the protection broke down, Sanders struggled.

I said last season Ewers would be the top QB in the 2025 class.  That could change.  I'm not sold on Sanders and Beck is surrounded by 5 star talent all around him.  Same with Milroe.

The one guy who has quietly gotten better every year is Jaxson Dart out of Old Miss.  If he has another quality season, he could end up pushing Ewers for that top spot.

There are a lot of solid BACK UP types in this coming QB class, but starters are THIN.  We will need to be no lower than pick #3 to get a starter.  Even then, not elite.

Once again, as I said before we drafted BY, we need to build the team before we take a chance on a 1st rd QB. We need to sign a solid veteran, and draft best player available. I think someone like Hunter should be who we target. If we have first pick, we can trade down and get him somewhere in top ten. WE NEED TALENT! AND LOTS OF IT!

Just now, Jon Snow said:

Ask me after the cfb season is over. I will have to watch more cfb now to see of some of these qb's have a chance in hell of making it in the nfl. So far none of them to me has screamed an nfl qb.

Elite starting NFL QBs? Correct, there are none in the 2025 draft.  I'm thinking about 2-3 mid-tier starters and several solid backup types.  We need a veteran QB just to get some W's.  Fug the playoffs. Heck, I'm so starved for merely watchable Panthers football that a season approaching a .500 record would make me giddy like a little school girl.

There's not a veteran out there that's going to help THIS TEAM win a game.

    • Fields is by far the most talented of the available QBs in FA.   Just not sure he will be a available because the Steelers are winning games. The more games they win the less likely he will be available. Fields gets them to the playoffs he's getting a nice contract from the Steelers imo.
