Netflix Streaming now available for the Wii

That's why all the console fanboys hate the Wii, they fear what they don't understand.

I don't think so. As the owner of a 360, PS3 and a Wii, it's really not hard to understand. The Wii is for groups of people and children.

Streaming Netflix is not a good value IMO. I had it for months and the best movie we ever found was an old Matthau/Lemon flick. ugh

How is free not a "good value"???

It doesn't cost extra and there are actually some decent movies on there. And they add more all the time. Plus there are a bunch of TV shows available.

Then you aren't the fanboy demographic I was referring to, no biggie. There are kids stuck in their parents basement who can't fathom what it would be like to interact with another living human being, they are the ones who trash the Wii. Is it the best? No, but it's a good system

That said it should have better movies. Better yet, how about stream any movie in their library? That's real value.

I just don't see this as big news. I just can't imagine that there are that many nerds out there that only own a Wii just waiting for this to happen. Your casual Wii owner (aka 95% of them) probably doesn't give a poo about this and probably also has no idea it can do this, etc etc.

It's just kind of silly at this point. But if you're going to use it, more power to you I guess.

I happen to have lots of people over at my house quite frequently. They are all adults, and most of them dont have or use a 360 or PS3. So it fits into my daily routine. Now I dont play it by myself or anything, just when there are others.

That being said, I think I am going to move it away from my Man room (has the 360, bigger TV and surround sound) and move it into the family room where we do most of our entertaining and TV watching. No it wont be 1080p, and I am ok with that. but the cool thing is that I will be able to stream Netflix to a TV where there is no internet connection.

Personally, I believe that Netflix will begin showing some more recent, A list movies soon. Instant Streaming for Netflix has gotten better in the past 6 months. There are some really good movies on there, yes you may have seen Forrest Gump, Vacation, Blow, The Sixth Sense 1000x times, but at least they are available if you are in the mood to watch them.

Also, if you enjoy Californication, Breaking Bad, Weeds, The Tudors, Man vs. Wild, Shark Week, Dexter, The Office, Lost....all of those shows are on there too.

I do however find it ironic that the Wii cannot play Netflix's DVD movies....

i stream all the time from my ps3. I love it. The hidden gem of netflix streaming is the documentaries, they have a huge amount of docs which are available to stream and most of which are really good.
