There is no way to replace him with a long term solution before next season starts unless someone gets very disgruntled and demands a trade.  And even if that happens, we can't give away another haul of assets for a QB, it never works out, just look at the Browns and Broncos the last couple years who tried it with Watson and Wilson

I disagree with the concept of waiting for an elite QB. You go with what you have, and do the best with it. That actually works for people if they are good at their jobs. 
 

edit: who was Your elite QB the last time we had a shot at one? That poo worked so good the last time we went that route.

Habit I suppose. I turned the game off after the bad opening drive in the third quarter. I highly doubt I watch another minute of NFL the rest of the season. I'll get my football fix watching college games.
