About midway through that game last night I realized those two teams were almost certainly playing for 2nd place.

I personally think that two Left Tackles get draft before. Banks from Texas is really good. I’ll be watching him tonight against the Ohio State D. If two QBs and two OTs goes ahead of us we will sitting pretty to get a top talent.

So what's the damage to get Beck?  After cratering his own draft stock, he's got to be thinking about stacking up some savings.  Maybe it's time to sell the Lambo.

This was honestly a very bad choice IMO.  Miami is losing most of there better players on offense.  He could have raised his stock elsewhere but whatever

Yeah,  Ward was also carrying a huge load. Beck couldn’t have stepped in and kept the ship sailing if they kept everyone.   

isn’t his girlfriend at Miami? Seems like a poor business decision

I'm sure the GF was an important part of the decision and probably so was Ward getting catapulted from "good QB and probably mid to late round pick" to "Heisman candidate and likely top 5 pick". But Beck couldn't have carried that team like Ward did with that inept D on the other side of the ball.
