That’s letting the moment influence the call IMO.  I don’t like how they do targeting in college football but the rules are rules and they have shown that for years

Zebras scared to call something that will impact the outcome.  Weak.  There isn't any targeting unless that was it.

It was so obviously targeting that you have to question the motive behind the decision.

What is targeting? The definition is: “when a player makes forcible contact with an opponent that goes beyond a legal tackle or block, or playing the ball” 

I think the ball being tipped changed how the defender reacted to the ball and he didn’t lean into his helmet. There was a no call on Ewers getting hit in the helmet too. Might have just been evening it out.
