Meh.  I can handle them getting in as ACC champs if Miami loses to Syracuse (which I think likely happens).

But they ain’t good enough to actually compete with the top of college football.  I actually don’t like the expansion to 12.  It was hard enough to find 4 that belonged in the same tier.

Nobody in the ACC is good enough to compete in the playoffs. Whoever wins the ACC I feel sorry for because they are going to get exposed big time in the playoffs.

You can't talk Colorado with me after the results. It's a known rule I only talk Colorado during the game. I can't stand people who show up after the fact.

See I told you so!

I just got here boss.

and I was at a bar this afternoon/evening in SC.   Clemson on 1 TV.  Gameocks on a couple.  And those were bad games.  Rest SEC.  BYU on a couple.  Colorado wasn’t even on 1 TV.   This is a Panther board.  Hence, SEC and ACC country.  No one here is really talking Colorado unless YOU seek it outside of a random Hunter mention (like Jeanty gets).  Or something in the main forum about our lack of QB.  No one here actually cares about a meh big 12 team.  Wrong part of the country

SMU winning the ACC if I was a betting man.

I hope those boys catch a rest because evidently they've been playing 24/7 365 for the last couple of years.

The hype has already reached it's peak. With Sanders/Hunter gone there isn't much else to talk about. The father/son relationship HC/QB was just the perfect storm and you had the #1 player in the country Hunter. Not hard to see why they were a intesting story.

Colorado will be just like every other team starting next season. They did land the #2 overall recruit who is going to replace Shedeur at QB. Not sure he has the personality that will keep them in the spotlight though.

SMU is definitely the most complete ACC team. As mentioned, whatever ACC team makes the CFP will get exposed. It's just not a good conference.

Indiana should be out now.  They have played no one and was blown out by their only decent opponent.  Colorado losing badly to Kansas was expected too.

It looks like two teams will sneak in for spots 11 and 12. If Indiana still has the one loss, you have to give it to them over all the 2 loss SEC teams.

I can't imagine the playoffs without Alabama. I think they somehow still make it even with 3 losses.

Why?

Because the NCAA is shady and will make favors for certain programs that brings them money. Alabama happens to be the cream of the crop. Don't be surprised if they still make the playoffs when all this shakes out.

I disagree those SEC teams resumes are much stronger but the committee could god any way I guess.

Well if they get blown out they may be forced to not make the playoffs lol

    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
    • Well, we got our answer on Army today.
    • Not a chance the SEC could compete with the NFL.  In the large cities that are not in the Southeast, (LA, NYC, Chicago, SF) College football is an afterthought.
