After Matthews performance today blocking and Catching, there is no reason on this God green Earth that we need to employ Ian Thomas unless we are dead set on carrying 4-TE's at the detriment to the team. Begone!

Put pass catching aside for a minute.  We have 1 healthy TE on the roster that we know can do a base level of blocking for Bryce Young week 1.  Ian Thomas.

So in terms of pass pro/run blocking…Ian Thomas is the best option for week 1 in many aspects.

Thomas would definitely be a surprise cut. Perhaps a welcome one but a surprise nonetheless.  I’m sure he’s a decent team guy and wish him the best but he’s way overpaid for the value he brings.

Nah he's most likely staying because he's still our best blocker at TE. He can be used for his blocking ability at worst.
