XxXXxNORMALxXXxX Mock Draft picks thread...

Recommended Posts

I figured that would be the pick because SLJ seemed obsessed with taking a LBer as his top pick but Hughes is really a 3-4 rush OLB. His value as a 4-3 OLB is terrible for that spot.

Didn't he play DE at TCU? I just took the highest available player on his board, he had Tate and Weatherspoon ahead but both of those guys are gone.

He's too small to play DE in the NFL and I don't mean an "undersized" DE either. Look through the draft prospects to find another DE his size and you won't find anyone until you get to the 7th-UDFA range. Just flat out he can't be a successful DE in the NFL anywhere near his current size.

If you play him as a 4-3 OLB you're basically putting him in a position that nullifies his best attributes and relies heavily on his weaknesses. He doesn't cover well. He has poor tackling technique and is weak at the point of attack. He will get run over constantly.

His value comes as 3-4 rush OLB, that's the ONLY reason he's going to be drafted in that range. No 4-3 team is going to take him that high. You could get a 4-3 OLB that would work as well in the 3rd or 4th round. SLJ basically trades our 2011 1st rounder for a guy that will our 3rd string WILL.

Tate or Weatherspoon would have been great picks but like you said they're off the board. This is why I said right after he made this trade that it's better to wait until the team is actually on the clock so you know the value is there and worth making the trade.

This oh my gosh this so much.

Even worse as a 4-3 DE.

ok. lets see. he is the same weight Everette Brown was coming out of college, 1 inch taller. now lets see who else is his size...

George Selvie-projected-5th

Ricky Sapp-projected-1st/2nd

BRANDON GRAHAM-projected-1st...same height and about 8-10 lbs heavier but anyone can put on weight.

oh and some kid named SERGIO KINDLE-projected-1st...1 inch taller, and about 5 or 6 lbs lighter...

my point is, he isnt too small to play DE in the NFL. But I also think he should go to someone like the Colts who like smaller pash rushers, or a 3-4 team like the Jets who is in need of a rush LB...

Brandon Graham (and a lot view him as undersized) is a full 13 lbs heavier (at there prodays) and while that might not seem like much 10-15 lbs of muscle is probably an off-seasons of weight training which probably won't happen until next off-season.

Not saying he can't play in as a 43 DE but he would be a big project.

Hey all.. I just got back into the country... If at all possible, I would like to switch my pick at #36... if you all dont agree, it is cool...

I kind of hurried through my lists I sent to RedMage and didn't really plan on some of the picks falling the way they did...

If you don't want me to change it, I understand... but if I do change it, it would be for Daryl Washington...
