Dude seriously get you some ass or something and chill out!! Im not like you dude, I don't read every "200 disrespect threads" until my eyes bleed..I was just wondering why edge was getting all the hype that's all..it's not that big of a deal..If you don't like my thread.....how bout you go on and kill yourself alright or just Ignore it, play madden and go to sleep like you do every night. thanks

You have just proven my point earlier. You admit you don't read other's posts and then make juvenile statements like kill yourself. This is intended as an adult board, perhaps you at least should pretend to be one. I will ignore you for sure at least until you have something of worth to contribute to the discussion. So don't expect a back and forth dialogue. Good luck on this board and perhaps we can discuss another topic down the road that at least has some merit.

The thing about our run game is the very fact that we haven't had one. At all. So if we can even get the hint of a run game, and force a defense to consider it as an option, then it really opens up our pretty ferocious passing attack. 70 yards might not seem like much to you guys, who are blessed with backs that routinely go for 100+ yards, but to us, it is pretty big.

A "hint" of a running game will NOT make enough difference. We will let you have your 75 yards and not care. Won't change how we prepare for Warner. Now if you could hit us for 100+ yards and some TD's, then that is a diff story.

The Media attention kinda reminds me of our SB run. Remember our second game ... it was all about the High-powered Rams Offence, never a word about the Panthers.

I for one like to fly under the radar, Hit'em Big and Hit'em hard when they think they have the game in the bag.

Odds makers have us as favorite, but the national media has us as underdogs. I perfer it stays that way.

I am new to this forum but I have been pulling for the Panthers since '95. Every year no matter if they go 1-15. I pulled for them every game. I agree with Blue Heaven, I, as a fan, want to see my team get some props on these networks. I realize some people may have read this "whining" on here alot, but It all comes down to respect. You get respect for your actions not your mouth. The Panthers are the #2 seed. It took hard work to get there and I want to see them get some props. AS A FAN!! Thats what this forum is all about? For Panther fans to come together and pull for these guys to win it all.

Then the networks can't help but talk about us. I take pride in being a fan of the Panthers, as I see alot on here that do. GO PANTHERS WOOOOOOOO

For a run game to be effective you have to be able to run enough to force the defense to commit 7 or 8 guys to defending the run. That then opens up the passing game when the safety has to commit to the run.

If you go to 4 or 5 receivers sets we will use a nickel package and only put 6 in the box. Unless Edge has great success that won't change. That is what we did in the second half of the first game with good success. I would rather have Edge gain 3 or 4 yards a cary then let Warner pass for 10 or 12 yards at a pop.

its simple why it gets press: the cards have shown that they can be dedicated to the run. i dont like it one bit. its not that edge is so effective or hightower for that reason, its what it makes a defense do. its a similar idea that the eagles and every other team uses: make the defense bite on play action, make them alteast beleive you are gona run it. if you dont run the ball at all, why bite on play action. the last pass is exactly why they ran it so much, to get the LBs to bite on the play action and open up the middle for the passing game. 2nd it completely caught ATL off gaurd (like zona did to us earlier per beason's postgame comments).

why does it get alot of press, because this is what everyone has been waiting for out of them. everyone knows they can pass it as well as anyone (3 1000 yard wrs), the thing is, before this game you could sell out to them passing and forget the running game. the eagles arnt the best running team in the world, but its what always got reid in trouble, too much passing. when they run the ball it opens up their passing game. it works in reverse here and this is what young was getting at in the mnf post game. if a team is going to be 1 dimentional, eventually a team is going to sell out to stopping it. broncos did with adding a LB, smitty said thanks. for the cards its similar, they ran effectively to start as everyone in the country (beside the cards players and coaches) expected them to come out slinging it like normal. it caught the falcons off gaurd and worked. and by the end of the game they had the falcon worried about it due to the success it had.

hell anyone remember beason's comments after the last zona game. they prepped for more TE use and they came out with 5 wide and burned us. if you can come out and some a team something they arnt expecting it can work wonders (widecat in atl?).

hopefully we can come into this game a little more prepared for it than the falcons. if we can stop it early (knowing that they are willing to run now) and force them in 3rd and long i like our chances better. we could end up getting them to go back to that 2nd Q where they stopped running and didnt really move the ball as well (1 pass that bolding made a play after the catch) for the rest of the game if we can shut it down.

this isnt about us getting no respect, its about the cards doing something everyone wanted to see, and the success it had. its about them becoming a threat no one saw coming (thats exactly why atl, and miami got so much press). we were expected to be in the hunt, and after the reg season ended, expected to get back to NY. its the cards that are the major story this week as no one saw this coming, they were the weakest team, 1 dimentional, questionable run defense. and what they did shocked alot of people. they should get this press, they earned it after a great win and looking like a dangerous team to everyone left.

Absolutely agree with you 100%, normally that is the case, but if you look at the way we throw the ball around, we don't take many shots down the field for a team that is so proficient at passing. The main reason for this is that neither Larry nor Q have elite speed. Larry has sickening hands and body control and Q breaks heads for his money, and we run short to intermediate routes very well. If we can get the linebackers to at least think the run is a possibility, and a threat (I use 'threat in the wrong sense, but I can't think of another word off the top of my head here), then it opens up the middle of the field to the 15 yard dig that is the bread and butter of this teams offense.

Watch Brooking on the final throw of the Atlanta game (I realise I keep going back to this game, but bear with me, it seemed like the perfect example). It's a play-fake, that Brooking bites on, just a little bit, and that's all that is needed for our TE to slip behind him and be wide open for the completion. If we can freeze the linebackers for just a second, I feel that Kurt will be able to get the ball out to our WRs. But for that to happen, the run has to be at least a viable option.

It's the point when we HAVE to throw that really worries me, because you can turn that animal that wears No. 90 lose and he can cause havoc knowing that he has to only worry about the pass.

Fair enough, go criticize somebody else's thread but we really don't need clowns like you on the huddle to be honest...I got love for Panther and Cardinal fans posting good stuff about the game this weekend; but unfortunately we get idiots like you from time to time taking this message board thing a little too serious...just calm down and be thankful we get to see cats play a home playoff game in a couple days...thanks
