Mock Panther Draft(no trades):

2-Tyson Alualu-DT-California

I see the Panthers going BPA between WR, DE, and DT with this pick. Clearly Alualu at this spot would be the best player available.

3-Mardy Gilyard-WR-Cincinatti

Since a DE wasn't BPA in the 2nd, I can see us not even drafting one, or waiting till about the 6th or 7th. So, they go WR here, and in my opinion, a steal in Gilyard.

4-A.J. Edds-SAM-Iowa

May not be available here, but is probably the best true SAM backer in this draft class. He will provide some great competition for Dan Connor and James Anderson.

6-Bill Stull-QB-Pittsburgh

To me, a QB shouldn't be drafted since we have Cantwell, but most likely a new QB will be on the Panthers roster this season. I'm not sure the FO has enough confidence in Cantwell for him to be the project QB. Stull, to me, is a steal with this pick. Oh, and he played in a pro-style offense.

6-Bryan McCann-CB-SMU

No, not that Brian McCan. He was the starting CB, and KR at SMU. He wasn't known for his coverage, but he is a ST BEAST. He had 2 blocked kicks RETURNED FOR TD's, 2 forced fumbles, and 808 KR yards. BTW, did I mention he ran a 4.28 40 at his pro day?

6-Emmanuel Sanders-WR-SMU

Another SMU kid. I'm really starting to like this guy. Maybe this won't jinx him, but I see alot of Steve Smith in him. Could also help in the return game. (runs a 4.41 40 yard dash)

7-Josh Hull-ILB-Penn State

Can't get much better than a Penn State linebacker falling to you in the 7th round. He started most of the year with Sean Lee out. The only reason I have 2 LB's in this draft are because 1.Hull is a PSU LB'er, plus since Connor is moving over to SAM, we'll need some depth at ILB.

7-Alonzo Durham-OT-Nevada

This pick makes sense for so many reasons. First, we need depth at LT. We also need some more versatile O-linemen.(He played LT and OG at Nevada) Next Nevada uses the zone-blocking scheme, which is what Jeff Davidson brought here back in 2007.

good mock, i just dont see that many teams passing on Golden Tate. there is no chance we wouldnt jump on him if he falls to us. i dont think he makes it past the early 40's at best, all those teams could use a WR with his polish (tampa, miami, denver, buffalo), one of them will bite.

I think it's more that he had the Jets taking him and since they traded for Holmes he took him off and forgot to put him back in somewhere else

Good mock, except that the Chiefs will not take a Safety that high.. Scott Pioli is an advocate of positional value.. he will reach for need. Similar to Tyson Jackson pick last year.. he was a 10 pick reach because of the positional value. Pioli will take Bulaga because he fits his mold for an oline.. he is smart and has a mean streak.

Also, I really can't see San Diego passing on Ryan Matthews in the first. Cody should be there when they pick in the 2nd and I definitely can't see Detroit selecting him in the second especially if they go Suh at 2. They need a LT.

Good point. Just remembered that Buffalo Said they were going to go with The Golden Calf of Bristol in the 2nd instead of a NT. which I figured they would trade ahead of San Diego for Terrence Cody since they switched to a 3-4.

I think Holmgren is throwing a smokescreen when he says "I wish I liked Jimmy Clausen better, but I don't".. I am thinking he actually will take CLausen at #7. I would be surprised if he fell to the Vikes.

I think he's Cleveland is going to take someone like Jevan Snead or Jonathan Crompton that has alot of upside/potential in rounds 3-5. I like Snead. to me the only reason he didnt do as well this year as last is because he lost Michael Oher(starting LT) and Mike Wallace(#1 WR). I also think someone like the Redskins or Chiefs will trade back into the 1st to get him. KC's best QB is Brodie Croyle, and their starter is/was a 1 year wonder. reason I say Washington is because the way it looks, Jason Campbell will be traded. behind McNabb is 1 no-name guy and Colt Brennan who reminds me of Delhomme the past 2 seasons as far as throwing picks.
