I planted grass seeds about 3 weeks ago. It's already about 2.5 " tall. I bet there's only 2 weeks more of this weather before the really hot stuff comes around for good and grass planting season is on hold until fall...

Apparently I need your help. Grass really took off in the back yard and side yard, everything is working great but the front yard which has a really big slope is a bitch. The little bit of grass that actually grew looks like it's dying and i sprayed weed killer and the weeds are still alive and kickin. I think i might hirer the front yard out in the fall because apparently I'm not doing something right. Maybe if i use a spray on fertilizer because the i'm thinking the dry fertlizer might be washing to the bottom of the slope.

There are alot of Mexicans out of work right now. My Brother in law went down to the Latino section of town and picked up two guys, paid them $100 each for the day. He said that they did a fantastic job to his backyard. Alot of those guys are out of work and need the money. They are professionals, and as long as you find one that can speak some English, it would be easy to get them to do what you want.

Yeah, because April is "Support Illegal Immigrants" month.

So grass is best planted in the hottest months.

Most Bermuda fields are planted in dead of summer.

That makes sense because Bermuda is a hot weather grass. Cool weather fescue should always be planted in the fall when possible. Many people plant it in the spring at it looks great at first, then the summer heat comes and if it is in direct sun and doesn't stay watered it will die off/brown because the root system is not established. It can work in the spring, but fall is much better.

Same with fertilizer and such, everyone always puts down fertilizer in the spring but the they ignore doing it in the fall/winter when it is most important. What you do in to your grass in the fall has more of an affect on how it will be the following year than in the spring.

one thing I am a little disappointed in...this is the offseason! For a couple cases of beer and maybe some burgers on the grill, the huddle could have tailgated at Cosmo's this weekend and gotten most of this work done in an hour!!!

Where are you brain's sometimes people!

Oh...and AK...you truly are an idiot with comments like that...just wanted to share!
