holy poo-- go to lowes- buy a landscaping book, a rake, a shovel, and some plants....

DO it yourself, its a great workout, sweat a little, and enjoy working with your hands....

Damn... You could have already been done by now....

Women always bitch about being independent, well-- get out there and do it yourself.

You WILL feel a lot better if you have o put the work behind it...

Its not hard, Its just some dirt and some plants...

+ its FUN

AK - I'm NOT doing it myself. That decision has been made. And NO it isn't fun in the least. Being able to do HEAVY stuff in my yard has no impact on my independence - I am not looking for hand-outs as even in the OP I'm asking about cost or offering to pay someone to do it. I'm not doing it but going to pay someone to do it.

Hey neighbor! Wanna come mow our grass? The guy that's been doing it hasn't shown up yet.

Cos, it didn't cost us much to have our front done. Break the ground, plant, mulch, etc. The guy that usually mows our weeds did it when we first moved here. It was in the hundreds.

I just had 2 acres done at about 20K. You can figure a landscaper will charge 500 to show up and get started. You're probably looking at 2000. It all depends on what you want put back, etc.

2 grand to move 2 bushes and fix 2-3 flower beds in front of a condo?

She shouldn't pay more than $300 and even that sounds high.

WTF does that have to do with being independent? Cos is one of the most independent women I know. She usually does fix things on her own.

I have no clue how much that would cost. We typically do it ourselves, if by chance you decide to do it yourself don't get your plants at Lowes go to a nursery. Much better quality and the price isn't that much more expensive.

Don't know about you but I get a lot of fliers in my mailbox I'm sure if you call them they will come out and do a free estimate.

Damn Cosmo... If I were out that way, I'd do it for free...

Around here, we call that being "neighborly"...

Just goes to show that not everything about Johnston County is all that bad...

wow really that's super nice

In one of the beds, I've got two bushes that have gotten too big, although I do trim them back but they're bigger than I want now so I'd like them dug up and moved to my front yard.

Should be able to have that done for around 25 bucks, depending on how big they are... Could take up to two hours at most...

One of the other beds has so huge hostas that I've had for about 10 years in there. I want them dug up and separated into 2 per plant. Also, a former roommate had planted some climbing vine that was supposed to flower but it never did. I dug it up a couple of years ago but apparently didn't get it all because it keeps coming back. So I want it out of there.

This area sounds like the biggest job... I'd say about 75 bucks...

Could take up to two hours...

In the third area, there's nothing really there anymore but there's too much dirt (aka nasty red mud) and I'd like it taken out and some better soil put in.

This doesn't sound hard at all... dirt removal and then cost of replacement soil... Could take an hour or so, depending on if you had the other soil on hand...

Labor wise, you're looking at about 10 bucks for that area...

I'm no landscaper, but if I were someone looking for some extra dough, I'd charge you about $125 tops for about 5 hours of work... That is $25 an hour...

Anything else, and people are being greedy...
