OK so there are 3 worst case scenarios guys, not 2.

The stats aren't in our favor.

That scenario falls apart when Andy has to help win 6 games. He's more fragile than Young at his age and doesn't have it anymore. Andy is a mentor not a "real" backup.

just so we're clear regarding the guy who says it's a good thing bryce is throwing picks because it means he's being aggressive: one was a shallow out route that got jumped

he threw those all the time last year and they're the kind of basic play he's unable to execute because of his arm strength

Not sure if this means anything re: Dane Jackson since Rudy Ford was here today before the hamstring injury. Waiting to hear how they made room for him.

True, but I always considered that a team accomplishment more than an individual one. But he did go undefeated to the Super Bowl with Moss, along with his only 50 TD passes too.

Randy is a GOAT wide receiver himself. I had him on one of my Madden Ultimate Team setups some years back. Fun times.

Certainly the combo of the two resulted in an all-time statistical season for spectators to marvel over. But who ruined the Patriots fun in the middle of those dynasty years not once but twice?

The Brady discussion has changed over the years hasn't it? Much was said about how much Belichick played a huge part in those championship runs but that's pretty much been dismissed now and everyone agrees Brady was the engine.

At the end of the day no matter what someone thinks of Tom and the franchise he played all those years for you can't deny that he was the ultimate competitor. He wanted it. He never settled. He was never a timid quiet leader. He wasn't as vocal as some but he also led by example. Would Tom Brady have had one of the worst seasons of his career and then came back in the Spring to announce his first order of business was to take time off and watch Netflix? If you want to compete for championships you need an ultimate competitor type behind center.

Now I'm not saying we need BY or any other QB we might draft to be that necessarily. But they have to at least attempt to approach it. Otherwise we are never going to elevate again as a franchise the way we did with Jake Delhomme and Cam Newton.

I'm reserving judgement and not making any proclamations until like week 6. I think we'll know by then if it was Bryce or if it was Reich.

Two worst case scenarios:

  • Bryce gets hurt so we can't properly evaluate him and miss a chance at a QB in the draft next year even though we'd have a high pick.
  • Bryce is juuuuuuuuuusst good enough, low middle of the pack QB, we finish outside the top 10 in terms of draft position and Bryce gets another year of evaluation in Canales scheme. Think Derek Carr.

Two best case scenarios:

  • Bryce is him and we have a franchise QB.
  • Bryce sucks so bad we get a top pick and draft his replacement.

This is it right here!

Top two options and we bring in a vet QB or draft one in a mid round to push/challenge Bryce.

Bottom 2 options answer themselves.

As soon as we accept this is what we are doing this season, it's a lot easier to watch/enjoy.

and there's no bigger story than bryce right now. you can't talk about the panthers or follow their training camp without noticing that the team is deficient at the most important position on the field.

"I can't even read the TC thread without you people pointing out how bad bryce is" is like complaining Endgame features Thanos too much. it is the issue of this team, despite what some people would like to believe

it will not matter how good the defense is this year if bryce can't manufacture more than 10 points a game.

and its amplified by (fair or not) the tweets from reporters and content guys that bryce is seemingly getting worse as camp progresses
