I will never understand how some Panthers fans continue to pass on QBs that win games. Dak was literally in the MVP conversation just last season. Before you give all the credit the talent around him check that Cowboys offense. It's literally Lamb or bust. Dak is a baller.

No one 'passed on Lamar'. Baltimore was not letting him go, full stop, and they were just letting him test the market and negotiate. Any team that invested time reaching a deal was going to get matched by Baltimore. He was never actually available. 

Regarding Dak, he does not elevate the team around him. He is a slightly better Kirk Cousins. If you think that is worth hella money and hanging your hat on, go for it. Meanwhile, Dallas will continue to go nowhere meaningful with Dak at the helm.

Not a household name but just wanted to give X Woods love. He’s one of the best safeties in team history imo and more would see that if the league wasn’t so soft. 
 

Ten years ago every one of his “personal foul” hits would just be “perfectly timed” hits.

I can see Tep now, all hopped up over finding his newest toy, pushing all the other hogs aside to be first to that trough.

Not sure I feel as strongly about Woods as you seem to but 'one of the best safeties in team history' is an extremely low bar. There is Minter, Deon Grant... and no one else outside of a couple of flashes in the pan.

Him, Chris Harris, and Kurt Coleman all fall into the 'flash in the pan' category, guys that captured lighting in a bottle for whatever reason and over-achieved for a season before fading away into JAGness again. It really is crazy just how forgettable, if not outright bad, the safety play has been for 30 years aside from Mike Minter.

I agree I just wanted to name drop him.  I couldn't stand the penalties when he played for us lol.

Ultimately we didn't win anything of note with any of them.

We can go back and forth about what could be done differently. But I don't think any of the 3 are a loss that prevents us from being competitive altogether. We have to stop making excuses for the people in charge of drafting and developing talent. If we had been doing that even halfway competently these departures would not seem nearly as consequential.

But anywho if you're feeling this way now you might want to pace yourself because this will assuredly be revisited over the next few months if they are all winning and playing at a high level with their new respective teams and the Panthers are once again flailing.

Chris "the Hitman" Harris was a menace in Chicago too. That dude was feared by many. Knock your head right off.

Moore was fine. The 'he isn't a #1' people were fools. His pay to play was great. That trade was epically stupid from every angle.

Burns was always more hype then anything else. Solid but that's the type of guy you trade before year 4 and try again. Replaceable...if the people running the team didn't waste the draft capital and cap space. 

CMC was a tough situation. Good player but the owner already fugged up and kept Rhule for year 3 which should never have happened. Selling CMC so the next crew could use that draft capital to try and fix the roster issues that showed up under Rhule isn't a bad idea. The bad idea was keeping Fritterers and letting him waste that draft capital and cap space. 

Moore was terrible, Burns was fine but they should have sold much sooner and CMC was damage control in the fallout of an owner that doesn't understand how to manage a game he doesn't know much about.
