Cam was really good at being a tone and tempo setter out of the gate.  Also, even though it wasn't polished....his disgust for apathy, losing and being against the culture that frankly existed IMO are forms of his leadership.

Jake was also a tone setter out of the gate.  Energy.  Fight.

We have lacked offensive energy for some time.  CMC and DJ Moore were just good at football.

Don’t forget Steve Beurlein replacing Kerry Collins, “there’s a new sheriff in town”

He seems like a very smart young man. I think he's come to the realization that he is indeed too small to be a QB in the NFL. Couple that with a weak arm and his confidence is shattered. He can't make the plays he used to in college because everybody is faster, smarter, bigger, and stronger in the NFL. I think he's starting to doubt his own ability. This Jets joint practice will say a lot.

I went and watched his high school highlights the other day. Bryce was a legit dual threat QB and was able to out athlete guys. His HS highlights are special

Then at Bama that dual threat was no longer. As guy were more athletic. The throws became less special.

Bryce has been trending the wrong direction and at this level his size has finally caught up to him. For me it was the fact he showed up this year without looking like he did much working out this offseason. Like you said I think he knows he’s toast.

Does every thread turn into bitching about Bryce?

From my experience, yes.

If you don't like seeing 3/4 of every post being about Bryce Young being short, weak, dumb, frail, slow (I recall some plays last year that speak to the contrary there) and numerous other terms, don't open any threads.

If this is true, what are your thoughts on what he does? Just ride it out as long as he can and collect the checks?

Wait, Jordan Matthews is speaking to the press. I can't find the video on Twitter nor YouTube tho. Beat reporters catching the responses tho.

This was one of the more enjoyable interviews I’ve watched in a long time

I hope they keep Matthews. He seems like a really good dude that could help out a lot of the young guys on this roster

This teams isn’t going anywhere this year so using a roster spot on Matthews isn’t a waste. This team could really use his veteran presence

Someone told me they pissed beside him when they rode 'Its A Small World' at Disney and said he had a big dingus at least. Said he also got the kiddie cup at lunch as well.

I mean yeah… I’m sure he’ll get a few chances after Carolina since he went first overall. Much like Sam Darnold keeps getting chances due to his draft spot

The media asked Bryce about his workouts this offseason and Bryce said he doesn’t check scale. He really side stepped a lot of the important stuff when answering the questions. After last year I figured he’d made damn sure he’d go above and beyond to make sure he came back with some actual muscle

    • I'm with you.  Even an extra 3rd would help.  None of the players you listed are elite though.  Sadly there are very few of those in this draft, but there are a lot of good players in the late first and into the second. We need to realize that we can't get all our needs in this year's draft.  We know we need some sort of edge, a safety, and I feel we need to use one of first 4 picks on a CB, preferably 3rd at latest.  And I want to draft an OT in 3rd to learn behind Moton this year. The extra 2nd would be huge.  2 things Bear Hands has noted in other threads, we can get a rusher in the mid rounds of the first, and if a good LT is available at our pick we should be able to get a deal. I'm ok.  If the media takes are close, trading back to around 15 should get us a second, and since our second is near the end of that round, getting one earlier opens up a whole lot of opportunities.  Either way, Canales builds his infrastructure with this draft.  Next year, with all our picks and probably picking somewhere between 10 and 15, we can get real stars.   All of this depends on hitting on picks this year.
    • You got the gist of his main issue. He plays LB or whatever on D, but hates to tackle and contact. That's the summary.  I normally have a wide margin of " Hey vet min/bring him for try out/maybe he changed/etc etc". But he can not be trusted, * but he did just have his "best" season. He's like those RB that refuse to run between the tackles, bounce everything outside...they too are scared of contact. That's like the whole point of NFL, he's able to trick and athlete his way for 5 years, props to him and his agent.  Me personally I view him like virus, I wouldn't want him on film shying away from hitting while the rookies&UDFA are looking for how the Panthers do things. Plus Im the biggest sucker there is about giving former 1st, 2nd, etc another chances. Just not someone who doesn't want to play NFL and fools those with his god given gifts.  ____________________________________________________________   \ Not to add another layer to this, but I feel contact and hitting its the biggest problem for the NFL. I sorta agree with TEs, WRs, and RBs either going out of bounds or falling to the ground to avoid a solid hit(this goes out the window for 1st downs, SB, etc.) Like if a WR caught a deep slant and already gained 17 yards, but here comes a safety with a great angle, Im all for that WR to fall on the ground...... ugh...... But I think the opposite for my defense. I feel this topic is central sun hot and NFL has done a great job in avoiding it. Im surprised NFL is still allowed, I have huge doubts in the future.
    • not sure if carolina picks a WR in this draft, they have some young WR already and will let them develop. Need another vet imo.  I think carolina is going to pass more to the RB's this coming season, look for them to move heaven and earth for Cam Skatteboo.  I really hope they go TE Warren in the 1st. That would add another dynamic to this offense.
