Our Picks According to PFT

If Gilyard is comparable to DeSean Jackson we need to grab him. I cringe everytime i see Jackson catch a ball. This guy has it. If Gilyard can play lets make it happen.

He's not though Gilyard isn't even close to Jackson or Smitty.

I have a strange feeling a lot of people will be disappointed when we don't drafta WR early. We always get caught up in comparing the prospects with each other, and not with who is already in the league. I like Gilyard too, but not sure he is 2nd round talent. I'm afraid that would be a reach. In fact, according to some sites, there are very few WRs who have sub 4.5 speed who are considered 1-4 round prospects. I think we need someone who can be a KR and maybe slot guy and can be had in rounds 4-6. I'm not sure anyone of the top guys who would be available at #48 could start for us.

It would not surprise me if we went safety or OL at #48 on BPA strategy.

Why do all these mock drafts have us taking a DT? Don't we have like 5-6 on the roster now and they are all young? Don't we only have like 3 DE on the roster should we be looking at that position and LB?

Yes.. most people on this board haven't looked at our depth recently.. there is no way in hell we take a DT before DE in this draft. We have 6 DTs and 3 DE's.. hell, I doubt we take a DT at all in this draft, considering we have already taken 2 DTs by trading this year's picks. You guys need to be content with our DT rotation.. because we won't be adding anyone to it.

We will draft a WR that can run block. I expect us to draft someone like Decker. Drafting Gilyard is retarded for many reasons. He can't block, he's slow, he struggles to beat the jam, and he's not a good route-runner. You got a bust written all over him.

qft. people look at the senior bowl and point to a game where CBs couldnt jam the wrs and say gilyard is gona be a good one. people completely forgot that he was shut down agains hayden and florida when they played press coverage. i pitty the team that takes him in the 2nd.

decker is so much better, big strong wr with possibly the strongest hands in the draft. plus he is loves to work the middle of the field and run block. guy is a perfect fit for the panthers, but b/c he isnt the flashy open field guy from a spread offense he is getting knocked. i think blair white is another wr to watch, same mold as decker.

Mardy Gillyard will be a disappointment in the NFL. He's not fast, just agile, and he drops a lot of balls. Watch the kid play a full game and you'll be quite shocked at how many balls he drops. I doubt we will pick up Gilyard if Jacoby Ford, Lafell or Price is available.

Thank you, I've been saying this for awhile. To compare him to Desean Jackson is asinine. The only thing I don't agree with is Ford in the 2nd, too early for him.
