Yeah no sh*t. Anybody with a fuggin brain could see we needed an actual center either from FA or the draft. JPJ was right there for the taking in the 2nd, yet we went with a devalued position that won't even be able to play until a month into the season. And then people wonder why we continue to be the worst team in the league.

The OL was a huge part of Scott Fitterer's failure as GM and the first thing Dan Morgan does is play Russian roulette with the most integral position of the oline. Your Carolina Panthers ladies and gentlemen lol.

Canales up

  • Shouted out PAL to start. 2 days removed from the game and had a good opportunity to work in the heat today. Refocus with the different challenges of the weather.
  • Cade Mays has an AC sprain and will be out for a couple of weeks. Jaden Crumedy has a high ankle sprain but no idea on time table. Nash Jensen is back, son was 8lbs named Colby Russell Jensen. Wasn't aware of Clowney injuring his hand/finger today but he practiced hard (Person said he noticed it was bandaged). Traore twisted up their knee and left the game early. Structurally it's good but there's something in there so that're following up on their evaluation. Damien Lewis out with a private family issue.
  • Film from the game is invaluable for everybody, even the guys that didn't play. Allows everyone to see reps and what can be improved on. Guys that didn't play in the game are being pushed to get their running in while other guys like some of the OL. Shouted out Nick Thurman + Jammie Robinson getting significant snaps.
  • Eku Leota is showing what they're showing in camp. High effort guy that shows up on the field like he does on film.
  • Looking to see the challenges of the different angles of the block ie: a downhill run that bounces and the blocker has to re-engage the defender. Fitting the gaps off of one another in the kicking game. They learned a lot from those reps.
  • His biggest emphasis right now is that they're all healthy
  • Funnest part for him was having convos with the officials. Fantastic communication with George Lee upstairs for a successful challenge. Challenge for him is when the defense is out there to be in tune with what's on the field in case he's needed while collecting info from the last offensive drive. Was a really cool opportunity that he's looking forward to again next week.
  • XL is doing great, still day-to-day. They're just trying to get the discomfort out of the foot completely cleared up before getting him into fast change of direction stuff. He's running inline now though.
  • Asked about the plane issue. Had landed and were taxiing and then felt a small jolt. They were informed folks had to get out there to inspect the plane so he took a nap until busses came.
  • He's in great hands with great coordinators. Talked up the OC + DC. He's just poking his head in to say what is the game plan, what are the calls, what should he be looking for, etc. Shouted out Tracy Smith and having to get the different ST groups out there.

    • Wilks is a nobody in the grand scheme of things.  He is right back out of the NFL, exactly where he was before Carolina dragged him back to the NFL.  I don't see what he has to be pissed or salty about. He got a shot with 2 teams and was just a average coach as he has always been.  He is a lesser Fox/Rivera
    • The way BY must play quarterback has a much higher degree of difficulty.  Coupled with his physical limitations his margin for error is small.    The guy evading the blitz and dropping a dime deep over double coverage is more exciting then a wobbling ball thrown into the blitz with good enough placement that gets 6 yards on a 3rd and 5.  It's been beat to death that he will never be the first guy.  He was the second guy vs the Chiefs.    The second guy is harder to do because it's mostly mental:  reading, reacting and processing the correct solution that the defense provided within a second or two.    It's harder to see on film, it's harder to evaluate.  That's why I think there's a divergence between fans yelling "noodle armed middle schooler!!" and analysts going "hold up, let's not write him off yet"    I personally need to see the Chiefs game be the start of growth before getting hopeful.  Ideally would like to see 1-2 300yd multi td games.  Then I'd expect the entire off season to fix his footwork.  With his physical limitations that footwork needs to be damn near perfect.  I would still bring in competition at the QB spot even in that scenario.
