Players like Dave Canales' energy, appreciate his "consistency"

I'm not gonna judge Canales until the real games get going. But he has a steep road ahead of him. This roster is depleted of talent. And it looks like this draft class is going to be no better.

Gotta give him a rookie year even if it doesn’t look great. He’ll learn a lot, see what he can do with it in ‘25

I just met Coach today, super nice and positive guy but looks focused. I think he knows he has a long road ahead but consistency is greatness as it's not a flash here and there, it takes time to even notice it. I like the guy and as fans we should give the team our support until proven otherwise.

This is a roster that is devoid of leadership.  Particularly on the offensive side of the ball.  Pete Carrol has always had veteran leaders to help keep people accountable.  I'm not sure that sunshine and rainbows is going to work without that.

I'm happy to hear that. Maybe the timing of this ringing endorsement after 30 something starters were being paid to stand on the sidelines and watch the rest of the team suck total ass for 4 quarters isn't ideal though.

Wins and losses are all that matter. Players talking him up helps his case because obviously it's good that people like you. On the flip side players loved Marty Hurney too. Wins and losses...

I plan to give him time, maybe even two to three years, but if we don't start seeing at least some palpable change, then his energetic positivity is going to get old real fast. People will feel more vibes from a salesman than substance from a savant.

It’s completely conceivable at this point to consider he may be working with a new QB next year. So like return to Go, start over. Only he’ll have a year into building a foundation.

That is not something that happens much with new coaches. They usually have to come in at the same time as the QB, in those situations.

    • Fields is by far the most talented of the available QBs in FA.   Just not sure he will be a available because the Steelers are winning games. The more games they win the less likely he will be available. Fields gets them to the playoffs he's getting a nice contract from the Steelers imo.
