Official Atlanta Braves Thread

The cubs are dumping salary, thats why. They think they are rebuilding...again.

Lee is supposed to hold a press conference after the game. I think this is more of a acknowledgment that Troy is bad off than anything else. Either way, if his back holds up, this will be a good move and put another hot bat in the lineup.

Edit Its official now, a done deal, Lee to the Braves for Robinson Lopez, Tyrelle Harris and Jeffrey Lorick

No major prospects.

I couldn't be happier right now. If DLee plays like he is capable of this will be the best midseason moves in a long time. Can't wait to see him with that A on his hat (not to mention the reaction he gets from the idiots at Wrigley this weekend).

I think you can expect a standing ovation for Lee, with a smattering of vastly overshadowed boos, which would be the case in any other ballpark in MLB given the circumstances.

Also, I wouldn't rule out Lee returning to the Cubs in the near future.

I will miss Lee, as he has been the only Cub remotely close to "favorite player" status for me over these past 7 years or so.

I hope Lee helps to propel the Braves far in to the playoffs. I can't stand the Reds, don't have much love one way or the other for the Padres, and the AL makes me sick, so go Braves and go D Lee.

Yeah, I lived in Chicago for four years. I met plenty of good Cubs fans, but everytime I went to Wrigley I felt the stands (especially the bleachers) were filled with drunken morons. The ones who boo'd Lee when he was struggling after coming back from his wrist injury and the ones who throw trash on the field and cause delays.

I know plenty of legit Cubs fans who are embarrassed by the dickheads that fill up Wrigley and know nothing about the game of baseball.

Exactly.

Which is sadly why the Cubs will never leave that disgusting craphole Wrigley, because they will always sell out as long as they play there.

You might notice the stadium very empty right now, but every single one of those seats is SOLD.

I wish they would build a state-of-the-art retractable dome stadium in the NW burbs so people that actually want to watch Cubs baseball could enjoy the TEAM, not the Wrigley "experience". Never gonna happen.

Braves lose, Phils don't take advantage and stay 2.5 behind.

It is the shame that the Braves are leading the division and if they pulled 10K in attendance for the game yesterday I would be surprised.

Funny thing about that.. I have friend in Pottsville that is a Phillies fan and HATES the atmosphere at the new Phillies park. It's literally the hangout of people 17-22 years old. Most arent there as even fans of the Phils but to pretty much just hang out. He went to a couple games and it was the same way. He hasn't went back since..
