Panthers claim a former Broncos safety and waive offensive lineman

Oh wow. Surprised that they brought in Sterns after talking up Woods, Fuller, Scott, and Cooke all week. Does he play nickel as well?

Can't help but think that this doesn't bode well for Sam Franklin unless they're planning on starting him on the PUP... but it could also just be kicking the tires on a guy familiar with the system that's had a history with injuries.

A good history with a coach gets consideration that the average washed up guy might not get.We don’t know what it is exactly.  Also works for the coach, with the good players.

Sterns is a jabroni.

The best part of this post is the supporting details.

In 2021 and 2022 he had 2 picks.  In 2022, he had a 76.4 PFF Score--he has a chance here.  Only 24.

It's good to bring in a guy familiar with Evero. There's almost no position group on the roster that doesn't need additional competition. I really can't think of a single starter on the defense aside from Derrick Brown whose job should be safe.

    • That’s a book of the great life that the Panthers have had. So great to look back on the great players and seasons that we have had. But I think the book could have been twice the size. We have had a good 30 years, up and down the standings. i know we are in a bad spot right now, but hopefully before long we will be climbing back towards that Super Bowl championship
    • LmAO ..it does not make any sense whatsoever why a team that is currently 2-0 would  trade their backup Qb to a team that is 0-2 & in the same NFC conference ? & what is Seattle going to do if Geno Smith is injured ? wouldn't a team that is  currently 2-0 & is quiet  possibly going to the playoffs  want a decent plan B that already knows how to operate their system & has some form of chemistry with their players  , like I said before this is the NFL &teams especially ones like Seattle  are NOT going to trade their backup Qb 2 games into the regular season...just saying
    • Yeah, I can see that happening, but my only thing is, whoever he goes to, it's going to be a bad team. Not a whole lot of difference between us and say Denver, Jax, the Giants or the Colts. Of course, we're probably worse, but not by that much. Manning would have to pick his poison.
