Charlotte Bobcats rise all thanks to Larry Brown

Well, I'll agree to disagree. Most people in Charlotte nowadays are transplants that root for the Celtics or wherever they came from. Beyond the certain percentage of Charlotteans from the 70s-early nineties (including myself), it can be difficult to draw even if they are winning in my opinion. Sure, more people will come to the games, because we are good, but we need some better marketing strategies if we actually want to gain a bigger fan base.

I'm not dissing the team. They have honestly grown on me...but they need a plan to market the team in the offseason.

not saying better marketing won't help, that's why you need people who understand the carolinas. as far as transplants, even in 88 there were plenty of people from other parts of the country(it just multipied over the last 10 years)and the second largest % group moving to the area already live somewhere in nc,sc or va. the nba is one of the entertainment options in this city and some may attend games so they can still see an nba product even though they may never become fans

If the Charlotte franchise had been given to Larry Byrd's group instead of Bob Johnson's, would you still feel the same way you do about the Cats? Would you defend everything they do to the death, like now? Do you love the Cats? Or, do you love the Cats because their owner was and is African American?

I'm sure the last question is the reason, but he will deny it. Shouldn't be surprise if it's true, Hatter. :D :D
