Scientists Discover Heavy New Element

A team of Russian and American scientists has discovered a new element that has long stood as a missing link among the heaviest bits of atomic matter ever produced. The element, still nameless, appears to point the way toward a brew of still more massive elements with chemical properties no one can predict.

Well they've named one of them Einsteinium so it's not out of the question.

These heavy elements just collapse shortly after making them. I know they hope that they will create more stable elements, but I think the act of creating a new element is mostly the easiest way for a physicist to get his name in history and have the opportunity to name something.

There's most likely a reason why we haven't found them existing in their natural form, since we haven't been anywhere that can support their structure.

Which I don't doubt exists somewhere.
