PFF's Top 50

Next year will be interesting since the Panthers now employ a number of the PFF folk.

I don't think there is any real danger of getting another player on a top 50 list in the foreseeable future. Possibly Johnson but that seems like a pretty big stretch too.

32 teams, you don’t get much slack. I bet the 30-50 slots have a lot of yearly turnover.

edit: well at least the team knew who to invest in between the two (Burns, Brown).

And they still couldnt get it done with 7 top 50 players because the Chiefs have the one that matters, the best QB.

Shanahan and Purdy will be on the hot seat this season. Don't be surprised if you see both in new spots at the start of the 2025 season.

Purdy made the pro bowl, is under a 7th round rookie contract, and received MVP votes last year.

Shanahan has taken his team to the NFCCG in 4 of the last 5 seasons, and the Super Bowl twice in that same timeframe. The main reason they didn't make the super bowl in 2022 was because the above mentioned Brock Purdy's arm fell off in the middle of the game and they sucked after they had no more healthy QBs.

I do not agree with what you have just said due to the aforementioned reasons.

Please please let this happen and both of them come to the Panthers.  Purdy light years better than BYoung and Shanahan may be the best coach in the NFL.  But dont see the 49ers letting either of them go for a long time.

    • Right? I mean if that’s not the biggest indictment on how shitty Bryce is.
    • I don't agree it's "much better." Bryce has been absolutely god awful, but the D has also allowed the most points in the league and as bad as Bryce is there has not been a single bright spot from the offense around him. OL is yet to be seen, yes I saw the stat on pressures but it paints an incomplete picture considering Bryce panic checkdowns so quickly. I'm not sold on Canales' scheme yet either. We will know much more following Sunday's game with Dalton starting. This year's team might be better than last year, but I'm not convinced yet.
    • Of course he’s having regular meetings. We literally just benched our 2023 #1 overall pick. Canales was hired for the exact same reasons that we all wanted to see happen in 2024. Figure out if Young could ever be the guy. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to think they likely saw the same poo all the announcers and fans saw. I agree that is 99.999% likely that Canales walked into Tepper’s office this morning and said, yep Tep, it’s as bad as we thought last week. The kid ain’t it and we need to move on and decide what we’ve got on this team and Dan’s gotta jump on the scouts and figure out the next QB.
