Bryce Young can have a breakout season in 2024

the OC has to build the whole offense around his limitations while somehow not being too predictable for opposing defenses. A tall ask

yet it's what needs to be done to one degree or another any time you have a QB lacking in professional experience. OC has to build an offense around what the QB can and can't do well and it will probably look pretty vanilla until they get it figured out (providing they can, which could either be a player issue or coaching issue that is the deciding factor).

Brady developed his arm over his career. I am unfortunately old enough to remember his early years. Here's hoping Young does the same.

https://www.boston.com/sports/new-england-patriots/2022/06/26/tua-tagovailoa-dolphins-tom-brady-patriots-scott-pioli-arm-strength-comparison/

Pioli said Brady was told to make high-percentage throws because that’s what he could do best at that time. As Brady got older, Pioli said, he got stronger, and he envisions a potentially similar arc in that regard for Tagovailoa.

Its a legit question if Idzik can do this given his experience or lack thereof.   His resume is kindof meh

in our situation, it's not just idzik, but canales who is developing the scheme. between the two of them they should be able to get something pretty respectable out there.

of course what is considered respectable is pretty subjective.

Really wish y'all would get over the dude's height already. There's no stat that shows a correlation between height and performance for QBs.  There's plenty else we can criticize Young for without constantly harping on him being short. Cam set unrealistic expectations for this fanbase.

r/dataisbeautiful - [OC] NFL quarterback's % of passes batted down compared to height (in inches...sorry 50% of Reddit)

Didn’t think it very long. poo was over in preseason looking back.

This is different as can be. You had Brown from one school and the HC in a different one.

The two guys now, are like little peas in a pod. I assume agreement with no huge compromises between the two needing to be baked in. No guarantees but that is a thing that you like having.

It is the most interesting thing going on this season. I mean, whether Young can step up is almost secondary to do they have a great plan. To me.  Because if he cannot execute the plan, at least we know they can do that. If he can, gravy.

Show me anything that links performance to height I’m begging you

Theres been exactly 1 qb under 6 feet that has won a super bowl in the last 40 years.

edit: upon further review

Theres been exactly 1 qb under 6 feet that has won a playoff game in the last 40 years.

Next question

Or the fact Young couldn't see chunks of the field last year...
