Pat Yasinskas, of ESPN.com, reports Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith has accumulated 45 receptions and 739 yards with six touchdowns in seven postseason games. His career postseason average of 105.7 receiving yards per game is the best in NFL history (minimum of five games).

If I have my information right, Steve Smith has accumulated 11,598 all-purpose yards in his 8-year career. This includes over 8000 yards receiving (including post-season play) and is easily the mist dominant WR the Panthers' history. If he continues to produce like this (without punching anymore teammates) I can see the Panthers honoring him with induction in the Panthers Ring of Honor.

However, he will have a lot more work to do to even be nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Can he do it? Probably not in John Fox's running offense, unless he pulls off a 16+ year career.

Of course as soft as Goodell is making pro football nowadays, a 25-30 year career seems possible...

I disagree. I think a ring and two more thousand yard seasons (which would get him over 10,000) all but assures him a spot.

    • I find it more like now that I have been forced to watch Young so much it isn’t as much of a shock to my senses.   Desensitized they call it.   For real, it just looks normal almost now. Where the first game of 2023 I wasn’t sure what I was looking at it was so out of bounds for NFL type play. I literally couldn’t make sense of what I had seen vs Atlanta that first week.
    • Lynch in SF. Great is subjective but he has done pretty well there.
    • Sure, except Stroud has the ability to stretch the field with deep passes. He did that often last night with ease, but couldn’t connect on many due to being flustered by the defense. BY9 gets flustered and can’t throw screens, let alone even think about any deeper passes. Stroud would’ve changed the franchise and done more with the situation last year. My thought at least.    the hope is that last year showed tepper that he needed to step back from football decisions. There’s a positive in most situations and maybe we’ll see a new tepper in the near future.
