This is a bs story.  Their families were never threatened.  

 

It was an incredible experience and loud af.  A brawl broke out on the ramps after the game that was wild.  Luckily it was broken up before people got seriously hurt.  im sure the cops had their hands full.

the level of fan intensity was unreal.  BOF hasnt seen fans close to that since 2015.

This.  The family stuff was to save face.  I saw several “almost” fights but both sides were to blame.  Soccer is a whole other level of loyalty.

from what I have been told, Uruguay folks wanted the family to be behind the bench and Copa committee allowed it even though the stadium folks said it wasn’t the best idea.

No commercials for 45+ min a half is one of the best things going in sports. NFL is almost unwatchable with all the commercials.

Soccer so boring but as parents more and more decide to not have kids play football it will continue to grow more popular. 

 

I always thought if they shrunk the field it would be MUCH more popular in the States.
