I haven't seen anything indicating "what he wants" in regards to pay. Is there something out there stating that?
i haven't seen anything as far as demands or expectations.

just because he was due $5nil/year doesn't mean that he will only work for that. from what i have seen, there was no offer to try and renegotiate with brown. they just tried to trade him and then cut him. no effort to try and keep him on the team....their loss.

honestly, i think for what you are getting with him that $5mil would be worth it. very consistent production. this year would be a great one to get him in. he has more to prove than peppers does, imo. he got cut for not being peppers. whoever gets him could see him having a career year. i hope that team is the panthers.

I don't get why so many of you are salivating for Brown. Getting him will stunt the growth of our young guns Johnson and Brown, and push Taylor to the 5th spot again when he has looked very good on pass downs, and has even held his own on run plays. We need help at DT more. But I think we have 3 solid guys there plus Irvin.

Anyway, Johnson and Brown have the potential to be stars. Let them prove that they aren't. For the record though I would like a 3rd DE but not Brown since he would want a starting spot plus he isn't really spectacular. It is kind of a chemistry thing.

And you know that Johnson and Brown have the potential to be stars how? I'm sure every young player in the league has potential to be a star and yet in another post you write as a need, "DE, I really like Taylor and Brown coming in for pass rush situations, but there is likely to be some tempting value in the 2nd and 3rd round". So, the chemistry isn't a valid point as it would most likely be open competition and you would rather have every DE inexperienced with adding a DE from the draft?Alex Brown would be a fantastic signing to push the "soon to be stars" and also to add some serious depth and possible rotation, in addition to adding some experience for our young DE "studs".

Aren't the Panthers' DE's just young DE's? Have they really earned being called DE "studs" yet?

How can you not get that "stars" and "studs" were sarcasm dedicated to an earlier, EVEN quoted post? The sign says read before posting...

That's easily said when you go back and edit your post 5 hours later, bud.
