We do not need Campbell or Bulger.

All that will do is add pressure on Moore and the fans will be calling for them as soon as Moore has a bad game. We need to draft a develop a QB.

I'm a Moore fan but if he can't take the pressure of having another QB who may or may not be able to take his spot behind him, maybe he should try lil league.

Pressure is good for a QB (unless your name is Delhomme). I actually think Matt has had a great deal of pressure thus far. He's handled it well, obviously.

I agree, but not in this case. I do not agree with a qb competition for the Panthers and thats what this will turn into. I think we should just draft a qb and develop him.

Mccown is dirt, his career never progressed, he's jumped from team to team in the back up role and frankly I wouldn't want him mentoring a young QB in Moore who should be twice if not 3 times better than Mccown has ever been. Bulger would be a good pick up for a mentor type role, simply because he has been successful in the NFL. Campbell has had a few sparks, but those sparks shouldn't be his hidden potential. And I hate the excuse of his Oline was soo poor that it caused his game to suck, well Santana was quick enough and had the ability to get separation on just a 3 step drop which would lead to a quicker release if Campbell just had the vision and accuracy to hit Moss on the go the split second he got open. Oh and not to mention he had a beast TE in Chris Cooley as his security policy and he couldn't do anything with that. I mean hell we don't have a elite TE but Moore can sure as hell get them the ball and make them look good. So I guess I choose Bulger out of the three...

If we were going to give up a 4th-5th for a QB I would rather it be Troy Smith personally. Campbell has been given a numerous chances as well as Bulger both have come up lacking. You could argue out of system for Campbell but Bulger is just plain average at best. Smith has shown a lot of promise and has not been given much of a chance (don't even mention 08', sick and they just drafted a 1st round QB)

I can understand the point, and if I were giving up a fourth or fifth rounder I'd probably rather go after Smith than Campbell as well.

But with that said, Smith is even more unproven than Moore. He's only started two games in his whole career, and he has fewer pass attempts to his credit in three years than Moore had in three games in 2007. He is all potential at this point, and realistically you can get that by just using your draft pick on a rookie (and get it cheaper). And again, Smith wants to be a starter, not a backup.

Bottom Line: Said it elsewhere. You don't back up a question mark with another question mark.

McCown's still my first choice, honestly. Bulger doesn't exactly make me cheer, but I'd likely take him over Campbell, given the circumstances.

I would argue having two young guys with 3 years NFL expierence that have shown a lot of potential and who both with a strong desire to start isn't a bad thing. I would also argue that while yes you can get "Potential" in the draft that Potential has not been shown at this level wherein Smith has shown that he can read NFL defenses.

But either way what I think dosen't matter. I doubt the Panthers are trading for any QB unless they can get him for Goodson, Sutton, or some other depth player.
