I was until they turned out to be $600-800 (I can't remember how much they were when they came out). Shesh they aren't worth that. Bought my xbox 360 for a $100 it made a grinding sound I fixed it myself instead of letting those idiots a hold of it. Then started buying them fixing them and selling them.

Did you know that the Xbox 360 had a 33% failure rate? Think about that if they were a car company how bad they would be off. Microsoft we'll take your money and run.

have a friend who can fix them.. we were going to start up a small business due to how cheap you can get them and flip them.. until over a million xbox's were banned by microsoft. didn't seem too smart to get caught with a shitload of those and unable to sell them.

I think the main thing holding me back is the controller (I don't want to get used to a new one)... as petty as that sounds...

I always had PS2 and played Madden for years on it. Until 2 years ago (roughly), a friend of mine had '08 (later, '09) on Xbox 360. I got rid of the ps2 a year before and gave up video games. However, to use the XBOX controller was something that took me 6 months or more to get used too. (perhaps that had to do with only playing at his place every now and then.)

I have to say the Xbox controller is much more comfortable and the buttons are situated in a more efficient manner. at some point, when your PS3 needs replaced... I would highly recommend Xbox..

Madden where Dline can weigh in the low 200's. I always would draft a LB in the last 3 or 4 rounds with a good Block shedding and finesse moves and convert him to DE and he could be a 15 sack guy. One time I had Michael Johnson (Bengals) as a rookie get 20 sacks in one season with me playing most of the games and using him. He is only in the high 70's overall and I was even getting like double digit tackles a game playing on all-madden. Its a tad unrealistic.

I use Gamble often to blitz.. 27 sacks this year....!

oh, and I've seen the same RB, Joe Coffee, at some point in the first few "franchise years" in the draft since Madden '07..

  • 4 weeks later...

good stuff, i discovered those cheats trying to get an edge on franchise mode and i've been using those tricks for months, but i got another one for you...instead of trading for picks in the 6th week of your franchise year, wait for the last week of the season to end, then check on the standings to see who the 3 last teams in the standings are and that way you can use the Trade Block option, find a team with players on the trading block, and enter like you would be interested in their player, then remove the player from the trade and you can make whatever trade you want with whatever team you want it's just like the trading deadline never went away, and you can get the first overall pick or the first pick in every round so you dont miss on any player you want that is projected to go in that round, works like a charm my man, hope it works out for you, cheers!

I'm on my 3rd xbox 360 at this point, in both cases it took a few weeks to get it back from repair. The 2nd one that failed (which is the one they sent me to replace the first one) was outside of my original warranty, so I had to drop another $200 to get it fixed and the warranty extended again.

I've promised myself that if (when) the one I have now fails and it is outside of the 2nd warranty I bought, I'm going to throw it in the trash and go out and buy myself a PS3.

madden 05 was the only good madden game. if it had unlimited franchise seasons it would've been perfect. all the others are only good for online play.

i love my franchise. Matt is my QB, he's an 88 right now and is pretty damn diesel. I drafted some beastly wide receivers over the years (Jehuu Bacon, Joker Davis, Tez Mitchell) to all compliment smitty, and they are all so good now that I could even release smith and still have the best WR core in the league (I won't though, I heart him).

A trick to make your D-line better is to draft a LB and convert him to either LE or RE. they jump as much as 8 points overall. They are incredibly good if they are fast too. the super slow strong ones can be converted to DT (even though they are really tiny) and they turn out very good.

A lot of CBs turn out to be better at FS, and Jon beason ends up a 99 at SS if you ever wanted to move him back there.

I also have like 80 million in salary cap room by re-signing my players after I convert them to punters or kickers. They turn into 12's overall and are signed for the league minimum without a bonus, so if you want to move up in the draft or trade your players away, you won't get a cap hit. I just change them back to their original position after I sign them.

I Do the same thing with draft picks, I sign them to a huge deal with no bonus, Change them to punters or kickers then release them, sign them back on the team to the league minimum with no bonus and change them back to their original position.

Also, always sign your picks in the 5th or later to 7 year deals, it's faster than doing everything I just said and they take their pay without any bonuses in those rounds.

Trade peppers away your first year to the bengals for keith davis and a first and second round pick, convert him to RE, and bam, you have a peppers replacement for a fraction of the cost. you can also usually trade one of your players for 3 draft picks, whether they be later or sooner in the draft, and stock up your team. you can only have 10 picks per year though.

on week 6 of your franchise, find out who the worst team in the league is by chacking the standings, and you can trade your draft picks for theirs straight up (1 for 1, 2 for 2, etc.). It's a great way to have an awesome team as well as get high draft picks. if you don't want to draft one of the guys you have scouted that early in the draft, trade down for someone else's first round and maybe even a later round or a position of need.

That's about all i have for making your madden experience better and your team more dominant. hopefully it helped.

This is my biggest beef with madden.....that you can do any of this.....you shouldn't be able to sign a guy as a kicker then convert him back to whatever position you want to fit it under the salary cap. That's a fuging joke and people who play like that are pretty lame, sorry....
