Marc Bulger released

Bulger can help Moore learn how to throw interceptions. Really this whole "mentor" thing is blown way out of proportion by our fans. Theres no difference between Delhomme and Bulger. Both QBs have had more turnovers than TDs the past two years. Both bring nothing to the table. Both would not be able to help out if Moore went down.

A "mentor thing" is not really needed if you have a top 6-8 QB, but for a QB that has never started a full season, and is thrust into the starting role...yea it could be a big help.

First a side note: I feel like any QB in the world could be released, put on the block, or declare for the draft and no matter what there is going to be a bunch of people on here declaring that if we don't sign them it'll be the worst mistake in the history of organized sport. I could declare myself for the draft tomorrow and you'd see threads like "Here's why we need to sign faultlessjoint as moore's backup...."

That said, I would NOT want to see bulger on my team. He doesn't have what it takes to be a QB in this league. You can see it in his eyes, he lacks the passion and heart required to lead a team. I would say his lack of leadership ability/confidence is his biggest short coming and that's exactly what we would be looking for in a veteran QB.

Plus people are saying they want a veteran to mentor Moore. Just because a guy is a vet or has experience does not mean he will be a good influence. I could easily see Bulger being bitter, disheartened, and jealous about what has become of his career. It's not easy for some people to help a youngster achieve what they were never able to.

the main arguement here is Bulger vs Cambell. Camber would cost draft picks and would compete to start. Bulger would come in as a #2 and main roll would be to mentor Moore.

I think Canbell bring in more still then Bugler but we need all the picks we have so Bulger is the better option. IMO

lol

The only quarterback on their roster right now is Flacco. Wanna make a bet that they end up signing an older, veteran quarterback before Opening Day?

You said name 1 team that doesn't have a vet on their roster. Baltimore had Troy Smith and John Beck as their backups. And if you look at their site, you'll see they have them as RFAs. They could end up signing them back. Flacco has proven that he didn't and still doesn't need a vet QB to "mentor" him.

as a self confessed rams hater, even I will admit...Bulger certainly had his days! I seen him get totally plastered and bounce back up and throw another 80 yard pass to Holt on the very next play! bastard! the last couple seasons though...not so much! hopefully this doesn't put the 10 in a row in jeopardy...I am really hoping on 12 come January!

That’s why you bring him in for a visit. Let him know Moore is the starter, what you’re looking for from him as a backup. From the interview if he seems like he would accept that role and wants the position then we can talk about signing him... if not move on. You don't sign someone without interviewing him to find out if that will be an issue.

I'm proud of you KK. The Ravens and Jets....so two teams of the twelve that made the playoffs fit the criteria. The other ten have veteran quarterbacks on their roster. So because two of the twelve don't have vets, signing a veteran quarterback is overrated.

You said name 1 team...

There are other teams that dont have vet backups because their starter is already a vet. Which is what Moore will eventually end up being too. Just like Flacco is becoming.
