This guy gives responsible gun owners a bad name. What good is a loaded gun in a bag? You should have to be given an IQ test to get a CCW and a gun for that matter. If you aren't responsible or smart enough to know how to handle a gun, loaded or unloaded, then you shouldn't have one. Carry a pair of fingernail clippers instead. Of course, those will be confiscated as well, but not the 12 inch knitting needles like the lady on my last flight had.

This might be one small exception to the rule here. If he has a CWP then he prob just forgot to put it with luggage. Still its not a smart idea to cary a gun if your worth alot of money. Just need to hire some body guards.

Sounds crazy, but I can certainly see this happening....not that I am OK with it, but it could happen.

I have driven to pick up my little sister with a loaded hunting rifle in the back of my truck, and totally didn't remember it until days later.

Now handgun and hunting rifle, and a plane and school grounds are nowhere near the same, but I could see it happening.
