Who's better, Kolb or Moore?

i think kolb has more upside/potential. he was a second round pick for a reason. mcnabb got ripped for not 'being accurate' and kolb will def have a better completion percentage than mcnabb did most years. he played in a short pass offense in college which we know the eagles love to throw the ball so i do believe he is better suited for this offense than other QBs.

that said, i hated when they picked him in the second round, hoped he failed when he got a chance to play and would still take him over matt moore.

how though? Moore has a strong arm, mobile, good mechanics, great deep ball, accurate, good decision making.. where he was picked has absolutely nothing to do with now.

and how is McNabb not accurate? he has one of the best td-int ratio of the past decade(if not THE best) and has always been a smart QB.

Moore is better. Moore was 1 yard away from a 300 yard game against the Vikings. And anyone who watched the NYG and NO games could clearly see that once Steve Smith got injured and when we had those leads they practically stopped calling any passing play and ran the ball during the second halves of those games. Moore could have had alot more yards but we didn't need him flinging the ball like Kolb did against NO and KC.

completion percentage i guess. i dont know. im a mcnabb fan, not one of those haters. people always complained he overthrew or underthrew a lot of balls (they had a point sometimes).

its all about potential in the NFL. yes, moore has more experience and better stats, etc. but the eagles think that kolb has a better upside (as do i).

of course, who the hell knows since neither of them have had much significant playing time.

Philly Offense is a WCO short dump off passes with an occassional downfield throw. Moore seems to have ever tool Kolb has.

Bingo

Said it many a time, the West Coast Offense is a very stat-friendly system for quarterbacks, but it's the receivers who do most of the work. many a QB has looked better than they really were playing in such an attack (Jeff Garcia being the prime example).

Reality? Kolb is arguably more of a question mark than Moore at this point.

kolb in a pass happy team with better targets and little run game.

moore in a situation with one solid WR and some decent TEs and a run heavy team.

kolb will likely have better numbers regardless of whether he is better or not. plus he is on a team that everyone likes and always gets a lot of hype. hype will follow him as well.

moore might be better and i don't buy the whole "he's a 2nd rounder for a reason" crap...david fikkin carr was the first pick overall so that argument doesn't hold any water. only way to know is what happens on the field.

compare moore with kolb in their performances last year and you would have a hard time proving that kolb was better.

Just cause its wco dose not mean kolb has a weak arm. NE also runs the WCO but Brady's arm is one of the strongest in the NFL.

The Pats don't run a West Coast Offense. Never have.

Off the top of my head, the only teams I can think of currently running it are the Eagles and Vikings, and with the Vikes it's something of a modified version.

Bucs, 49ers, Seahawks and even the Panthers used to (Seifert era).

Kevin Kolb has a cannon for a right arm. I was shocked at how hard he throws when I watched one of his starts last year. I think with him at the helm, they're going to go downfield more to their quick WR group and have a lot of success. I think he's better than Moore because he has a bigger arm.

But both guys have essentially played mop up duty for the starters while they were injured. You can't predict who will step up and be "the guy" for their respective clubs. All the tools in the world don't mean anything when you get under center as the starter. You have to make it happen.

So who really knows who's going to be better. You might as well flip a coin. I just know that i'm happy that Moore is our starter. If they were to offer up a 1 for 1 trade today, I wouldn't take it.

yeah, the pats are more a spread offense than anything. always bugged me that everyone seems to poo poo QBs that come from a spread saying that they can't handle a pro style offense but the team that had the most success/rings in the 2000's ran that very kind of offense.

anyway...there are a couple more teams that run the WCO, i believe. don't the broncos and the bears run it and the saints do to a degree, don't they?

ohhhh...and i think you could safely put the redskins in the WCO club.

shanny + mcnabby = WCO

McDaniels Bronco offense is closer to the NE offense under Weis than the WCO. It sometimes looks like a WCO though because Orton is a bit of a noodle arm.

Bears? Don't think so, but they'll be more pass happy this year (Martz, who used to call his offense "Max Q"). Saints are pass happy, but not West Coast. Mike McCarthy (Packers) uses some WCO ideas but I wouldn't call it pure WCO.

Never said he had a weak arm.

BRADY, F_CKING BRADY, Who said anything about F_CKING BRADY!!!!!!

I don't see where Kolb has anymore arm strength than Moore.

Go read on Moore's pre-draft info and his arm strength was a positive.

From Consensus Draft Guide "He has great size and a strong arm"
