Awesomeness!!

have you lost your mind? he may be done there, but why would we want him when we have a better qb? adding him would add speculation that he would compete for the starting job which would be bad for the team. Moore is better in every way, maybe the browns will go after Campbell:D

Maybe competition is what Moore needs. At the end of the day, Fox isn't going to start JC over Moore, but maybe if Moore wins the job in camp in would give him that extra confidence needed to be really...really good like we know he can good. .

Whats wrong with having 2 good QBs? We carry like 7 kickers for Christs sake.

Jason Campbell is gone in DC, and we have to pick him up.

No we don't :nonod:

The kind of veteran the Panthers want is someone proven to be reliable (if unspectacular) in the mold of a Rodney Peete or a Brad Johnson.

Not even in the wildest imagination does Jason Campbell fit that profile.

It's not a given that the Skins ship Campbell just because they got Mcnabb, but if they do, He's not what the Panthers need in a backup.

I'd trade no more than a 5th rounder for him which we don't have.

What is the god forsaken love affair with a QB that is like 6000 games under .500 with the DEADSKINS.

Cambell is a scrub and I would take David Carr back before I took Campbell. And you would have to beat me with a brick baseball bat to convince me to take Carr. Leave Campbell in DC and forget about making him a Panther.

HE SUX

I really want to see a brick baseball bat now...

McCown has 0 value, other than the fact he knows some of the plays. That would be helpful, if he wasn't completely terrible.

Kind of goes back to the Jake Delhomme scenario. What's the point of having him as a backup if you know he can't play?

I assume you guys feel differently, but I feel just as good about someone like Hunter Cantwell stepping in as I do about Josh McCown. He's just not very good at all.

McCown didn't play well in arizona.

1st year: 0TDs, 2INTs

2nd year: 5TDs, 6INTs

3rd year: 11TDs, 10INTs

4th year: 9TDs, 11INTs

And the year with the Raiders: 10TDs, 11INTs

I've watched a lot of McCown's games and highlights. He played better than the stats would indicate (and to be fair, at the time, the Cardinals were still the old Cardinals).

Again though, I want him as a backup, not a starter.

My personal read though? We won't be getting him back.

I think it's more likely the Panthers pounce on the best combo of halfway decent / satisfied with a backup role / really old that they find on waivers between now and September.

Granted that could be McCown, but I don't think it will be.

And Campbell has done nothing but improve each year he's been in the league while playing for the really bad Redskins.

He's still far from what I'd call a reliable veteran. Despite starting a boatload more games than Matt Moore, he's still just as big a question mark (arguably bigger).

You don't back up one question mark with another question mark.

Granted, McCown isn't exactly an exclamation point, but he's a solid comma. I'll take that in a backup.
