Schefter: McNabb to Skins; compensation unknown

I don't get why sending McNabb to your division rival when he can still perform at a high level is a good idea, especially with what I think is poor compensation in return. The smart thing to have done is exile McNabb to the lowly Raiders and rob Al Davis silly.

Oh, and I can definitely see Redskins vs Eagles in prime-time. One way or another, there will be booing.

WHOA folks. don't forget Campbell has a first round tender on him. so unless the Skins get the sudden urge to give him away for a 3rd or something, then forget it

I'm 99% sure they will be willing to trade him for much less now that this deal has gone through. Not that I would want us to trade for him.

Wrong.

Agree. Jason Campbell is the Redskins version of David Carr.

At WR, Devin Thomas was stepping up, but they need Santana and Malcolm Kelly to step up.

OL is really the biggest issue...I expect Shanahan to do a good job finding good OL though.

Well, I wouldn't go that far. Campbell has gone through so many different playbooks year after year, and he actually improved each year. Despite how bad his offensive linemen made him look, he's actually pretty good. Though not anywhere near as good as McNabb.

How familiar does this sound???

Speaking at a hastily arranged press conference, Eagles coach Andy Reid made clear that today's trade of Donovan McNabb makes Kevin Kolb the starter in Philadelphia.

"Obviously, we have a lot of confidence in Kevin Kolb to make this decision, and he will be the starting quarterback," Reid said.

Presumably Michael Vick will be the Eagles' No. 2 quarterback, but other than mentioning that the Eagles listened to offers for "all three quarterbacks," Reid didn't even seem to want to broach the subject of Vick: Reid sees this trade as the passing of a torch from McNabb to Kolb.

"Obviously it was a tough decision to make in trading Donovan," Reid said. "He's been such a great player here for 11 years. . . . I have nothing but good things to say about Donovan. Unfortunately, things like this happen in the National Football League."

Reid said he thinks the situation in Washington will be a good one for McNabb.

"I will always wish Donovan a lot of luck, with the exception of two weeks during the year."

Well at least the Redskins will make it to the playoffs this year, very likely to the NFC Championship (sarcasm) game but that's where there run will end, McNabb will be the same player in Washington as he was in Philly...He'll Choke...But I'm sure with him at QB Santana will look like the receiver from previous years...

thing is, Andy reid's system is garbage. throw 30-40 times a game w/ no balance b/w the run and the pass. really ridiculous. and as far as last season, the Defense was garbage by year's end. and Samuel was pedestrian at best.
