Even here on the huddle my football sanctuary for diehards like myself this lil wayne is good/sucks debate happen:rolleyes: Anyway, might as well put in my 2 cents. 1) Looking at the amount of stuff lil wayne puts out it would be easy to pick apart his lines. He does like 2000 mixtapes/features a week. But if your really listen he puts out some nice stuff. I don't really feel alot of his stuff but some you can't help but say damn sometimes. 2) Saying there are not great lyricist anymore is ..lets just say your not informed. I mean look at lil brother(group from NC). I could name at least 5 others not even trying hard. Its just that the guys that don't kill people,associated with gang, got shot or got a criminal record seem the kids don't think your real. Plus 12-18 year old kids are the ones that call radio station religiously. So whatever they like is what most people think is hot, even if its hot garbage. 3) He is from New Orleans, and of course he thinks the panthers are gonna lose. He's an aint fan.

Yes but how many of those other lyricists have achieved his popularity? I mean, I'm from NC and I've never heard of that group you mentioned.

I would like to now interject that the QC Ryders are the best rap group ever (at least to us Panthers fans!)...

No doubt that's the problem. And that's why I like little wayne. He's one of those where the LYRICS actually matter more than some stupid chorus (like seemingly every other popular rapper in the world) or their "gangsta" past--and yet he's the most popular rapper out there. I mean, the Carter III sold over three million copies. In today's world of I-tunes and Limewire, that's more than special, it's astounding.

Yep...thats another thing. Sometimes Albums sell really well and its like this is the greatest album of all time or best album of the year etc.. But if you listen to Theatre of the mind by ludacris(always underrated) against The CarterIII you can't honestly tell me the Carter III is 2 million more of a better album that ludacris. I mean imo Luda's album is better ..but it won't sell better.

Dude.. Saying you don't know who Little Brother is, and then saying how Wayne is so great because he sells records is the exact point they were making...

I give Wayne more props than those like D4L and Soulja Boy, but he is a part of the problem in my opinion just the same... He does more just to sell records than he does to keep it real, and lyrical....
