Looks like Colt M is going to visit with...

As for McCoy the prospect, I think he is a very good one. I think his arm strength is underrated. I watched several Texas games this year, and McCoy clearly can make all the throws he will need to at the NFL level, and put good zip on the ball. He is uncannily accurate, a great leader, has very good vision, good athleticism, is tough, makes good decisions, and is a hard worker. In fact, as a draft prospect, he is very similar to Drew Brees. Now, I'm not comparing McCoy to Drew Brees the SB MVP, but Drew Brees the draft prospect.

His Panther prospects:

I disagree that McCoy doesn't fit our offense. The truth is we don't know exactly what offense we will be running this year. Up til now, our offense was tailored to Jake's strengths, but with him now in Cleveland, we will have to adjust what we do on offense, no matter who the QB is. Heck, we already saw them adjust when Moore came in last year to better take advantage of his athleticism by running more rollouts than we ever did with Delhomme.

So, I think the same would hold true if we take McCoy. While he can make the long throws, he is better on the short and intermediate ones, so I could see us going more to a shorter passing game than we're used to. We already use the WR screen quite a bit, but with McCoy, I think we would utilize our backs out of the backfield as well as the slot position (much like how the Pats use Welker) much more than we ever have. If you remember, when Davidson first came here, he talked a lot about wanting to run all sorts of different screens, but we never really saw them on the field (IMO, most likely due to Jake's lack of precision passing, which is required for running good screens). So if we brought a guy like Colt in, I think you would see Davidson put those pages back in the playbook. I do think our offense would probably have similarities to a WCO, but with more of a run orientation than you typically see in that offense.
