Potential logo and name.

I believe there were people who disliked the name from day one, but thats gonna come with any new franchise. Eventually people gotta move on. Its year 6, IMO this should not even be a discussion. And definitely not in our most visible prosperous season. We are the Bobcats. We are Charlotte. Thats what the jerseys say, thats what we rep, thats our identity. Tough, blue collar defense blended with athleticism, length, & quickness. All combined with the heart & fight of a wildcat. That is who we are. The Mighty Bobcats.

Agreed. Like I've said, the unis change and change to the secondary logo as our primary has done wonders. You can't beat the blue/pinstripes unis.

I do think it's bad timing as far as the observer stirring it up during our most successful season when we should just concentrate on the success at hand right now.

Great post, and I think I'll leave this discussion there... We got a playoff spot to claim... lol

Because wannabe, we've never seen anything like this before. Fans so avidly wanting to play "owner" instead of just enjoying the quality entertainment that is laid before them in a winning season. The Disturber is just 1 newspaper. And not a very good one at that, who cares what they say. Their poo aint even archived past 1980, what they say dont stand the test of time, thats a fact. And with no money behind the movement, its just chatter. Meanwhile, us Bobcats fans are excited beyond belief about the history that is being made this season. Bob, Larry, Mike, they all done good, and made this city look very respectable at least when it comes to pro basketball. TWC Arena is a special place, a place of diversity, of fun, entertainment, family, and great basketball. Our founder did what he set out to do, and now we are finally enjoying the fruits of his labor in 2010.

That is the problem... JUST US BOBCATS FANS in not enough!!! The ones who understand and support the team now are great, but it's not enough for financial and team growth!!!!

You cannot say to those who are not aboard your either with us or against us... that is the attitude you are portraying. The bobcats need all the public support it can get. Empty seats will not get us where we want to go!! Point blank period!

If changing the name will help to greatly approve our fan support then I am for it. You keep saying put the $$$ up. It's not about putting the money up. The money for a name changed could be paid for by the change in fan support from the city. One thing for sure is fan support will definitely grow... the only question is will it be enough to justify the cost.

Having the city of charlotte split over a franchise like this is never good for the longevity of the franchise.

Now is this the only option... No. Maybe winning can help change the negative sentiment, and maybe the further we get away from Bob's ownership with time the more people won't care.

Talk about these people all you want, but I guarantee you Jordan and the other owners and executives knows they need those people to support the team. You’re fooling yourself if you believe the fan support now is enough. It's about the $$$, like I've stated earlier its business.

People lie all the time. :D

Nice to see you're one of 'em, Kingy. Still waiting for your so-call proof & evidence to back up your statements that Jake is arrogant & only care about the money before the Panthers release him. Still no link based on what you said? Then you lie. Kettle meet pot.

And that some poor excuses to hear some say there isn't much attendance for the Bobcats because of the lack of winning or because people hate BJ. No, actually it's because of the name. The Hornets didn't have much of a good records the first few years, but the attendance was strong. It not just because it was the first NBA team in Charlotte, but fans like the Hornets name. I rarely seen much feel the same for Bobcats though & it never will. But maybe BJ being the owner is another reason why because of his ego & selfish behavior. If it was based on his race, how come those against him are now supporting Jordan? I thought so. :P

Most people I knew when the Hornets were announced thought the name was gay AND sissy.

this is something most don't/can't remember.it was only after the hornets started playing that they caught fire like they did, and did'nt have much to do we the product on the floor more so the atmosphere on tyvola rd.peole came out, had a good time, and became the place to be in the QC. at one point the hornets ave. over 23000 fans and had 21000 season ticket holders.most of these "fans" would be what most call casual and they are starting to come to cats games more often now that they are winning
