Potential logo and name.

Well i wonder why a NBA franchise wanted to change their name from BULLETS. That is different. That was obviously a change because of the negative connotation of those deadly things that come out of GUNS. Oh and the fact DC was a leader in murder per capita. SO i don't get why everyone can not just get behind our playoff bound team and stop trying to change nicknames and uni's. I like the orange and blue. I like the feline name it fits with the Panther's. I don't care to change nothing.

Bobcats have been known to kill people too. just sayin'.

95% of the people who want a name change are "casual" fans at best. Yall know my idea, let the people who want the name change foot the bill. Let them put up the 12 mill to change it. If its that big of deal, money shouldnt be an issue. And since we want to act like its an overwhelming majority of people, 12 mill should be easy to raise right? The people who been on board from day 1 shouldnt have to suffer because a couple of "casual" fans cant get past our founder.

BTW, you know I'm not a casual fan KT. This is MY hometeam, the Hornets abandoned me, but I adopted the Bobcats from day one... B/c it's my team. Can't change that. lol

But, I'm in favor of the name change b/c I just think the Bobcats has too many negative connotations. I get tired of watching anchors on Sportscenter say "Bob's cats" trying to be funny.

I appreciate BJ brought the team here, but to have fans suggest and vote for names and then bust out a name after yourself that no one had previously heard of was just kind annoying. But, nevertheless, I've followed every game and pulled for this team every night.

Honestly, it wouldn't hurt me too much if we kept the name, but I feel like we need a rebirth. At the same time, I can understand why people say it's already our identity now, but I feel like we can draw more people into the arena with a better name and logo. Either way this is my team just the same and that won't change, but I am in favor of the name change.

I know, but it was one of the names they had voted on originally I thought. Plus, I wonder if we could purchase the rights to wear the KC throwbacks (I think it was KC)...

Sorry, it was Rochester Royals. When they moved to KC they changed the name to Kings. Then moved to Sacramento... So, I'm guessing the Kings own the rights to the throwbacks.

Still, I like Royals.

I know your not a "casual" fan Proudiddy, and your right this is your team. I would only suggest though, you should enjoy your team like the rest of us and stop worrying about other people supporting it. It will come, and we dont need to do something stupid and outlandish to get that support. Changing the identity of a new playoff team that isnt changing cities is does more harm than good.

If you click the OP's link Proudiddy you will see that the naming process is an extensive ordeal. The team, the NBA, and the fans all got involved and it was not decided on a whim. The "Bob Johnson named the team after himself to stick it to the fans" myth is unfortunate and I dont blame you for believing it all these years. If you tell a lie enough times people will eventually believe it. But it is not true.

So if they were in 12th place you might not oppose it?
